Following a long teasing campaign, VW has finally pulled the wraps off the all-new, third-generation Touareg during a special event in Beijing, China. The new VW Touareg adopts a sleeker styling, moving away from the off-road character of its predecessors. Despite being built on the same MLB architecture used by the Porsche Cayenne, VW claims that the only exterior part the new Touareg shares with the Porsche is the front windscreen. VW’s new flagship SUV now measures 4878mm long, 77mm more than the outgoing model. Width is now 1984mm (+44mm) and height is 1702mm (-7mm). The new platform and body also helps in making the new Touareg 106kg lighter than its predecessor. Perhaps the most impressive feature of the new Touareg is its interior, which VW calls Innovision Cockpit. The dashboard now features a 15-inch(!) touchscreen display merged under a single glass surface with a 12-inch digital instrument cluster. Volkswagen just won’t stop teasing the new generation Touareg. This time, the German company is partially revealing certain design features of their flagship SUV, including the new headlights with incorporated LEDs and massive front grille with horizontal chrome bars. Pay close attention at the 0:07 mark and you will see that the new Volkswagen Touareg features plenty of driving modes and assists, controllable via two rotary dials located just in front of the armrest. It also appears to have an automatic parking feature, in addition to the electronic parking brake and auto-hold function. A second teaser continues to tell the story of its long journey, from Slovakia all the way to China, focusing on the spectacular landscapes of Kazakhstan, from canyon roads to frozen wilderness. The third generation Volkswagen Touareg is almost ready for its world debut, which will take place on March 23, in Beijing, China. Designed by VW’s head of Design Klaus Bischoff and his team, the new flagship SUV will arrive with fresh styling inspired by the Arteon at the front, in addition to bolder lines all around. In the latest teaser, VW talks about “one of the largest digital cockpits in its class”, which “opens up a new type of infotainment system”. Other interesting features are also being mentioned, including the rear-wheel steering, air suspension, and roll stabilization, all of which will “ensure a safe and dynamic driving experience”. Underpinning it is the MLB Evo platform, which is the foundation stone of pretty much every large SUV developed under the VW Group’s umbrella. These are the first teaser images of a new VW concept, which will be presented on April 25, at the 2016  Beijing Auto Show . Design-wise, it has angular headlights with LED technology, joined by an LED strip in the front grille, C-shaped DRLs and wide shoulder lines with its styling seemingly mimicking the  new Tiguan  compact SUV. Open the door and you will be greeted by a heavy digitized, lounge-style interior sporting a new advanced infotainment system.
