Technical specifications for the dual-motor Tesla Model 3 derivatives have been announced by Elon Musk on Twitter . Tesla will produce two all-wheel drive Model 3s, one focused on range and the other optimized for power. The first of these two will use the same 258 HP and 317 lb-ft rear wheel motor as the regular Model 3 and also utilize a second electric motor driving the front axle. Tesla hasn’t published a combined horsepower figure, but says this Model 3 variant will reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds, a healthy 1.1 seconds quicker than the rear-wheel drive version, and will top out at 140 mph (225 km/h). As for the performance-focused dual-motor Model 3, it will be capable of launching from a standstill to 60 mph in a rapid 3.5 seconds and max out at 155 mph (250 km/h). Tesla is temporarily stopping production of its Model 3 electric car, amid a long waiting list and several missed targets. The company, however, says the shutdown is intended to resolve some of the problems that have contributed to the numerous delays in getting the cars to hundreds of thousands of reservation holders. The automaker said Monday it would halt production of the Model 3 sedan for 4-5 days at its Fremont, California assembly plant, BuzzFeed reported. The EPA has finally detailed the official range of the Tesla Model 3, the electric automaker’s first affordable EV. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the long-range variant of the Model 3 has a combined range of 310 miles (499 km), exactly the same figure as quoted by Tesla at the vehicle’s delivery event in July. In the city, Model 3 Long Range owners can expect to travel 321.9 miles (518 km) on a single charge and 295.5 miles (476 km) on the highway. Alongside confirming the vehicle’s range, the EPA has given the range-topping Model 3 a combined 126 MPGe rating, calculated from 131 MPGe in the city and 120 MPGe on the highway. Tesla launched a dedicated website for customers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), CEO Elon Musk announced on Monday, as the U.S. firm continues to expand internationally. The electric car company said it will begin taking orders for the Model S and Model X, with deliveries of the vehicles expected in the summer. Tesla will also have a pop-up store in The Dubai Mall and is building a service center in the city. It plans to open another store and service center in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi next year. Tesla also announced that it had opened two superchargers with five more to follow by the end of the year. This technology allows Tesla owners to charge their cars in minutes rather than hours. Tesla said it also has 26 destination chargers across the UAE, which are at places such as hotels and shopping centers. It plans to add 50 more by the end of the year. Specifically, it sold 9,156 units of the  Model S , while sales of the 7-Series and S-Class were 3,634 and 3,138 units respectively. Previewed in a teaser image posted by Tesla Motors, the Model 3 will join the likes of the Model S and  Model X  from March 31, when its presentation is scheduled.  While the manufacturer has started offering 650 tickets to customers  for the reveal event , with info on how to receive one being sent out in an e-mail, most details on the actual car remain in the dark.  What we can tell you is that the new Tesla Model 3 is expected to take the shape of a sedan and to be visually similar  to its larger sibling , when viewed from the front, at least. Tesla will finally reveal the Model 3 during a special event on March 31 in Southern California. A post on the  Tesla Motors Club  forums confirms Tesla is preparing to launch its fourth model – the Model 3, on March 31. We don’t have further details about the premiere, but it is said it will be held in Southern California. On the same day the Californian EV automaker will start accepting $1,000 deposits on the Model 3 and maybe some reservations will be made during the launch event. Online orders through the recently acquired Tesla.com will start on April 1, while deliveries will kick off in late 2017. Preliminary details suggest the Model 3 will have a starting price of $35,000 before any tax incentives.
