Some three years after its NY Auto Show presentation, the ninth generation Chevrolet Malibu has received a few styling and technology updates. Among the changes brought forward by the GM-owned brand are the modified grille, headlamps and taillights, different exhaust tips, new chrome trim, colors and wheel designs. The lighting units on both ends get LED tech in the LT and Premier grades, while the latter adds full LED clusters, too. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system is found inside, with a new 8-inch touchscreen display offered as standard across the range. Opt for the Premier model and see the analogue instrument cluster getting replaced by an 8-inch digital system. Mere hours after Nissan introduced its  Midnight Edition package  to six models, Chevrolet has announced that it will introduce the Redline special edition series to no less than nine of its models. Chevrolet first debuted its Redline series at the  SEMA Show in 2015  and will now roll it out for the Cruze LT,  Malibu  LT, Camaro SS and LT, Trax LT, Equinox LT, Traverse Premier, Colorado LT, Silverado Double Cab LT Z71 and Silverado Crew Cab LTZ Z71. All models in the Redline series come equipped with black wheels featuring red accents, blacked-out grilles, black badges and black Chevrolet bowtie logos. From here, the individual models start to differ depending on the preferences of customers. The Chevrolet Malibu is proving more popular than ever before, selling the best it ever has since being reintroduced in 1996. In the first 11 months of the year, more Malibus have been sold than any year prior, allowing the mid-size sedan to become the highest selling car for General Motors, displacing the budget Chevrolet Cruze. GM has tried for many years to perfect the Malibu and introduced a redesigned model in 2007 with high hopes. However, after the financial crises, it proved unsuccessful and even the 2012 Malibu failed to deliver. But in 2015, a  totally new generation  was released with an edgy design and advanced technologies and it seems to have done the trick. Following last year’s  Red-Line enhancements , Chevrolet is previewing two new Blue Line concepts ahead of their Public debut at the SEMA show. This time, the American maker added  a splash of individualization  to the Malibu and the Cruze RS hatchback models, developing various accessories specifically for them. As opposed to the Red Line models, which reflected Chevrolet’s sporty character, the Blue Line models demonstrate the lifestyle and personalization possibilities of the brand. Of course, enhanced aesthetics play a key role, with both concepts featuring Genesis White exteriors, contrasted with blue-tinted windows, and slate-blue metallic painted 18-inch wheels.
