VinFast, Vietnam’s first volume automaker, has come to the 2018 Paris Motor Show with two brand new models that are supposed to capture the country’s natural beauty with their design. The LUX A2.0 sedan and LUX SA2.0 SUV will be sold worldwide as premium products, and will be manufactured at an all-new state-of-the-art 335-hectare plant in Hai Phong, northern Vietnam. Deliveries will commence locally in June of 2019. Visually, both vehicles sport a chrome V emblem at the center of their grille, plus a horizontal chrome stripe that merges with the LED daytime running lights. The sedan is defined by its long bonnet, stretched out roofline, elongated C-pillar and overall balanced proportions. The SUV on the other hand is more muscular, featuring flowing lines and a contrasting matte black surround for the headlights, fog lights and air intakes. VinFast Unveils Vietnam’s First Cars Ahead Of Paris Show Debut

Image
VinFast, Vietnam’s first car company, has lifted the veils off its two Pininfarina-designed cars set to debut at this years’ Paris Auto Show. The sedan and SUV models have been designed for the company’s home market based on a selection made by the Vietnamese people. VinFast gave the people of Vietnam the opportunity to influence the styling direction at the very beginning of the design process one year ago. More than 62,000 people chose from 20 design sketches submitted by four major Italian car design houses. While ItalDesign’s sketches initially won the contest, Pininfarina was appointed to further develop and complete the designs. Labeled as premium products, both cars feature very similar front ends sporting a chrome V emblem at the center of the grille, a horizontal chrome splint that merges with the LED DRLs, sleek headlights, and an asymmetric chrome element. Highlights of the sedan’s design include the generous wheelbase, long bonnet, and horizontal body...

A brand-new Vietnamese car company called VinFast aims to launch in the market with an SUV and a sedan – both developed by Pininfarina’s design and engineering teams. Both models will start sales in Vietnam in September 2019 but before that, VinFast will bring them to the 2018 Paris Auto Show in October for their world debut. “We have the resources, scalability and commitment to become a significant new player in the global automotive industry. We are immensely proud to be the first volume automotive manufacturer in Vietnam, and the first to participate in a major international motor show”, said VinFast’s CEO, James DeLuca. Besides their ambitions to offer the two as-yet-unnamed vehicles in Vietnam, the start-up’s plans include worldwide sales. It may be too early to talk about the exact markets in question, but we could be looking at Europe, where they would be exported straight from a brand new factory located in northern Vietnam. VinFast won’t limit their offerings to ...

Vietnamese automaker VinFast has enlisted Pininfarina to create a new sedan and SUV. According to the Italian styling house, 20 designs were submitted to VinFast for the upcoming models. The company then held a contest which asked consumers to select the designs that fit “Vietnamese tastes” and are “in line with world trends.” More than 62,000 people voted in the contest and the two Pininfarina entries came out on top. Little is known about the models but the sedan rendering shows the car will feature a stylish front fascia with slender LED headlights that blend into the grille. The car also has a bulging hood and gently curved surfaces which are broken up by strong character lines. The SUV has a similar front fascia but it is notably taller and more aggressive looking. That’s why the styling similarities end as the model adopts plastic body cladding, prominent wheel arches and roof rails. We can also see a large greenhouse and a gently sloping roof. VinFast is expected t...
