Aston Martin has finally confirmed powertrain specifications for its upcoming Valkyrie hypercar, which will produce a combined 1,160 HP (1,176 PS) at 10,500 rpm and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque at 6,000 rpm, even more than what was previously reported. Its Rimac-sourced battery electric system alone is responsible for an additional 160 HP (162 PS) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft), while the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 delivers a full 1,000 HP (1,013 PS) and 740 Nm (545 lb-ft) of torque – that’s 153.8 HP per liter. Aston Martin has confirmed reports that the road-legal Valkyrie hypercar will be available with an AMR Track Performance Pack. The British automaker has also detailed the personalization programme for the vehicle. As the name of the AMR Track Performance Pack suggests, it will make the road-legal Valkyrie that little bit faster on a racetrack but not quite rival the track-only Valkyrie AMR Pro. The performance pack includes a new aerodynamic front clam to improve downforce and efficiency, lightweight titanium brakes, matte black magnesium performance wheels, a carbon fiber aero wheel disk set, and track-focused suspension. Aston Martin says the alterations will make the Valkyrie roughly 8 per cent quicker than the standard model. After months of teasing, Aston Martin has finally confirmed the Valkyrie’s naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine will produce a staggering 1,000 hp (745 kW / 1,013 PS). Jointly developed with Cosworth, the V12 is being billed as the “ultimate expression of the internal combustion engine.” It’s hard to argue with that sentiment as the engine revs to a ridiculous 11,100 RPM and develops 153.8 hp (114.7 kW / 155.9 PS) per liter. Those are some pretty impressive numbers, but the engine is surprisingly light on torque as it peaks at 545 lb-ft (740 Nm). Of course, those specifications don’t tell the whole story as the Valkyrie will be “further boosted by a battery hybrid system.” Aston Martin is keeping details under wraps, but previous reports have suggested the model will have a combined output of 1,130 hp (842 kW / 1,145 PS). People are longing to see more of Aston Martin and Red Bull’s hypercar, and the two companies know that all too well. Meanwhile, the British carmaker is using the hype created by the upcoming Valkyrie to boost its social media channels. For example, Aston Martin’s Instagram page is the only place where one can find three new photos of the Valkyrie hypercar. They reveal a two-tone paint scheme combining two contrasting tones of blue. You may find this hard to believe, given its hardcore nature, but the Aston Martin Valkyrie has become even more impressive with the AMR Pro track-only version. The all-new Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro is the British marque's track hypercar that will make you forget about Ferrari's FXX K and McLaren's P1 GTR. Aston Martin has unveiled a near-production version of the Valkyrie. Described as further developed version of the car that was presented last summer, the updated model has new openings in the body between the cockpit and the front wheel arches. Red Bull Racing's Adrian Newey discovered this change provided "considerable gains in front downforce" so it has been incorporated into the car's design. The updated Valkyrie has also been equipped with lightweight headlights that draw inspiration from Formula One. As the company explains, the low and high beam elements are attached to an anodized aluminum frame which enables them to be between 30-40 percent lighter than the "lightest series production headlamps available to Aston Martin." The Aston Martin Red Bull hypercar will be called Valkyrie, the firm has announced, continuing a run of high-performance Aston Martin ‘V’ cars that dates back to 1951. The Valkyrie name also ensures we no longer have to refer to Aston’s upcoming hypercar by the AM-RB 001 codename.
