Ford calls the new Maverick America’s first standard full-hybrid pickup truck, claiming the title of the market’s most fuel-efficient truck with an EPA-estimated rating of 40 mpg in the city (37 mpg combined). At 199.7 inches long and 68.7 inches high, the new unibody truck is 11.1 inches shorter and 2.1 inches lower than the Ranger, which up until now was the smallest member of the lineup. Ford has pulled the wraps off the new, all-electric F-150 Lightning today and opened reservations for its first fully electric pickup truck. Let’s start with the pricing. The 2022 F-150 Lightning will kick off at a surprising $39,974 MSRP before any federal or state tax credits in its base, commercial-oriented trim level, rising all the way up to around $90,000 for one of the range-topping models. The mid-series XLT models will start from $52,974 MSRP, again before any rebates. Ford vehicles still qualify for the $7,500 federal EV credit, which brings the starting price down to under $32,500. Prospective customers can reserve theirs at Ford’s website now with a $100 deposit. This is the new 2021 F-150 Raptor, Ford’s Baja-inspired super truck that now enters its third generation claiming to be even more off-road capable, more connected, and perhaps more importantly even better at jumping over stuff. Ford is well aware of the F-150 Raptor’s iconic status and popularity, saying that over the last four years, the previous-generation model cumulatively outsold Porsche’s entire lineup of sports cars and also surpassed Chevrolet’s Corvette in sales. At launch, the new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will be available with an updated twin-turbo 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 but way more interestingly, the carmaker did confirm the existence of the highly-anticipated Raptor R model with a V8 engine, which will debut next year. The 2022 F-150 Raptor R will be Ford’s answer to the 702 HP RAM 1500 TRX, and will most likely borrow the supercharged Predator V8 from the 760 HP Mustang Shelby GT500, possibly at a slightly de-tuned state. In a rather surprising move, Ford has given the 2020 GT several technical and visual enhancements. We’ll start with the revised oily bits, which were inspired by the Ford GT Mk2 racer and include updated engine calibration, gallery-cooled pistons, higher-energy ignition coils and broader torque band. The result is an additional 13 horsepower added to the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which lifts the output to 660 hp. That’s not all, because the revised GT also gets a larger intercooler and updates to the buttress air ducts that increase the air flow by 50 percent. The suspension has been updated as well in ‘Track’ mode to improve handling and body control. Furthermore, the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, which was a $10,000 option, is now offered as standard. Ford has finally unveiled the 2021 Mustang Mach-E, a dedicated electric SUV. Putting the aside the obvious sullying of the Mustang name, the Mach-E is a relatively stylish crossover with an aggressive front fascia and a fully enclosed grille. The latter is surrounded by slender LED lighting units and a sporty lower bumper. The aggressive design language continues further back as the Mach-E has a rakish windscreen, a coupe-like roofline and softly curved surfaces. The model also boasts bulging rear fenders, a dynamic greenhouse and hidden door handles that bring a touch of class to a mainstream brand. Unfortunately, the rear end isn’t as lucky. It features a bloated tailgate with Mustang-inspired taillights that appear to have been tacked on with little thought to aesthetics. Putting those criticisms aside, the crossover also has a rakish rear window, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a black lower bumper. We already knew that a new version of the Ford GT was coming at Goodwood – and this is it: the Mk2, an enhanced version of the racer that cannot be driven on public roads – nor any existing series, for that matter. The Blue Oval is asking $1.2 million (€1.063 million at current exchange rates) for each of the 45 units it will put together. In return for spending the 7-digit sum, customers get the track-only supercar that’s been developed by Ford Performance and its engineering partner Multimatic with aerodynamic upgrades and more power. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 has been tuned to deliver 700 horsepower. That’s 200 hp more than the racer that is constrained by racing regulations, and makes the Mk2 the most powerful version of the GT yet. Details and images of the 2020 Ford Puma have emerged online thanks to the company’s British website, seemingly a little earlier than Ford had planned on revealing the new crossover. The first thing which will likely strike you about the new Puma is its size. It is small. Very, very small. Ford has yet to release measurements for the Puma but it appears to only be slightly larger than the popular Fiesta hatchback. As this is a crossover, however, its design is quite different to that of a Fiesta and it supports a higher and more-upright driving position. Preliminary photos of the Puma show the vehicle in ST-Line X grade where LED headlights and taillights are featured. The front also supports a large black grille and if there was ever a vehicle with a front fascia which looks like the smiley face emoji, this would be it. Ford’s new small crossover will be named the Puma. The moniker has thus made a comeback in the brand’s portfolio after a 17-year hiatus. Unlike the previous Puma, which was a small coupe built between 1997 and 2002, the new one is described as an “SUV-inspired crossover” with emphasis on versatility. The automaker says it has “best-in-class luggage capacity and flexibility”, and a 456-liter (16.1 cu-ft) boot capacity. Teased for the first time, the Fiesta-based crossover has distinctive styling cues with wing-top mounted headlights, aerodynamic lines and raised ride-height. Ford has revealed the new Kuga, the company’s most electrified SUV ever with three electrified options. The range will include the Kuga Plug-In Hybrid, the Kuga EcoBlue mild-hybrid diesel and the Kuga Hybrid (self-charging), together with two diesel and two petrol engine options. The all-new Ford Kuga is the company’s first SUV to use the C2 platform, also found in the latest Focus, making it longer, wider and with a more generous wheelbase. Ford claims that the new model is up to 90kg lighter than the outgoing Kuga.
