The wait is over and Porsche’s highly-desirable ‘Project Gold‘ 993 911 Turbo has premiered and could very well be one of the most desirable Porsches in recent years. To create this bespoke Turbo, the German manufacturer started with a 993 and stripped it back to its shell. Immediately after, the shell went through a process of corrosion protection and the same painting process that’s applied to modern-day Porsche vehicles. In fact, the car wears the same Golden Yellow Metallic paint as the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series. With the body fresh, Porsche went about installing a brand new 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine delivering 450 hp, exactly the same as the original 993 Turbo. From there, the manual transmission and all-wheel drive system of the original were sourced from Porsche Classic. Fans of the iconic Porsche Speedster now have the opportunity to buy an incredibly accurate replica courtesy of a company called Stärke. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Stärke has just revealed its replica Speedster which uses a Porsche Boxster as its base and then adopts a host of custom interior and exterior parts. Stärke will accept any Boxster built between 1998 and 2012 and immediately sets about stripping the sports car down to its shell. From there, the company fits new body panels almost identical to the flowing and curvaceous parts of the original, including similar wheel arches and those famed circular headlights. The company offers a range of different Boxster conversions to suit a variety of budgets. The packages start out with the Speedster CS for $59,950 (excluding the donor car). Described as 'the most beautiful car in the world' by Enzo Ferrari himself, the Jaguar E-Type has now received a fully electric powertrain. Known as the Jaguar E-Type Zero, the study is based on a 1968 Series 1.5 Roadster, and was restored and converted at the JLR Classic Works in Coventry. It features a 229PS (225hp) electric motor, mounted in the same place as the original powertrain, which is fed by a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Recharging the battery takes between 6 and 7 hours, depending on the power source, and it provides the concept with a 'real world' range of 270km (168 miles). The British automaker states that the new propshaft sends power to the original differential and final drive, with 0-100km/h (62mph) taking 5.5 seconds, making it approximately 1 second quicker than the Series 1 E-Type. Infiniti just threw two teaser images of its upcoming “heritage-inspired prototype” that’s set to make its debut at the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. From the images, Infiniti’s retro prototype looks like it draws inspiration from pre-war single-seater race cars. Infiniti’s Sevior VP of Design Alfonso Albaisa set the idea behind their new concept by saying: "It started as a simple thought: What if we found a car, down at the southern tip of Japan, buried deep in the bush, hidden from all eyes for 70 years? What if in this car we found the seed of passion planted during our first Japanese Grand Prix and the power and artistry of Infiniti today? What would this discovery look like?"
