Chinese automaker Qoros has presented its all-new Young crossover at the Chengdu Auto Show alongside a luxurious sedan concept. The Young is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four engine with 150 hp and paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Unlike other Qoros models which utilize a platform co-developed by Magna Steyr, the Young has the same underpinnings as the Chery Tiggo 7 and is similar in size to both the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-3. Unlike the Chery on which it is based, the Qoros Young is more upmarket and adopts a surprisingly appealing exterior. The cabin also looks quite refined and includes a prominent infotainment screen, three-spoke steering wheel, push button start, optional gold accents and stitching as well as leather wherever you look. As consumers become increasingly attracted to high-performance, all-electric sedans, Chinese automaker Qoros has unveiled its K EV at the Shanghai Auto Show. The car has been created with the help of Koenigsegg who last year, debuted their revolutionary FreeValve Qamless engine in a separate Qoros concept. As the name implies, the K EV doesn’t rely on an internal combustion engine and is instead totally electric, making use of four electric motors, one to drive each wheel. All up, Qoros says the car delivers a total of 870 hp and will be capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in under 2.7 seconds, putting it right in the mid-2 second range most current or future EV sedans seem to be targeting. It will then top out at 162 mph (260 km/h) and alongside the impressive performance, be capable of travelling over 300 miles (482 km) on a single charge. Just the other day, Chinese-Israeli automaker Qoros previewed a new concept it's been preparing for the Shanghai Auto Show. Those dark renderings gave us little to go on, but this latest (albeit solitary) image shows us the full monte, as it were. Called the Model K-EV, the concept stems from an ongoing partnership between Qoros and Koenigsegg. The Swedish firm has already furnished its Chinese partner with its FreeValve camless engine design, and now it has hooked up Qoros with the same kind of transmission-less all-wheel drive plug-in hybrid powertrain as it applied to the Regera. Exact details on the powertrain's output and capabilities have yet to be revealed, but as you can see, it's enveloped in a cutting-edge design – which also encompasses some innovative features.
