The Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks off tomorrow and BMW celebrating this year’s event by unveiling the M Performance Parts concept. Based on the M2, the concept is a track-focused model that features optimized aerodynamics and a weight reduction of more than 132 lbs (60 kg). As the name suggests, the concept has been equipped with an assortment of M Performance Parts including a carbon fiber grille, hood and front fender vents. That’s just the tip of the iceberg as designers also installed carbon fiber winglets up front and on the sides of the vehicle. Other carbon fiber components include the roof, tailgate and rear diffuser. Sticking with the outside with the vehicle, the concept rides on 19-inch M Performance wheels which feature a Frozen Gold finish.  The color is visible elsewhere as designers added bright accents to the grille, sides and rear diffuser. After several high-profile leaks, BMW has officially unveiled the 2019 M2 Competition. Looking instantly recognizable, the model replaces the previous M2 Coupe and features a modestly revised front fascia with a larger grille to help improve cooling. Additional styling changes are limited but the car has aerodynamic mirror caps, a black chrome exhaust system and restyled 19-inch wheels featuring Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The interior largely carries but there’s new M Sport seats that feature an illuminated M2 logo on the backrest. Drivers will also find a red push-button ignition and a sport steering wheel with M buttons which can store custom performance settings. Other highlights include “M2 Competition” sill plates, Alcantara accents and special seat belts which have BMW M stripes woven into them. Unless you have a microscope handy, you probably won’t be able to tell the difference between the facelifted 2018 BMW 2-Series and the older model. Nevertheless, BMW has detailed the updated range in a comprehensive gallery for your enjoyment. As part of the 2018 LCI for the 2-Series, the automaker has adorned the entire range with a smattering of subtle changes to keep it looking fresh and feeling modern. At the front, the updated car is fitted with bi-LED headlights as standard while bi-LED adaptive headlights are an option. Designers also tweaked the front kidney grille surround, made redesigned fog lights available and created different air intakes across the range. BMW has taken the wraps off the facelifted 2-Series and M2. Set to be launched in July, the updated model features a modestly revised exterior with a new front fascia that includes larger air intakes and a wider twin kidney grille. Additional changes are limited but the new 2-Series lineup will come standard with LED headlights and updated LED taillights. Elsewhere, there are several new wheels options and an expanded color palette that includes Mediterranean Blue, Seaside Blue and Sunset Orange Drivers will find a handful of changes in the cabin as BMW has installed a new instrument panel that "significantly enhances the cockpit’s quality feel."
