BMW introduced the redesigned M3 and M4 last fall, and now the company has dropped the top on the new M4 Competition Convertible Set to arrive in the United States this October, the high-performance convertible has a familiar twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased all-wheel drive system that only sends power to the front wheels when additional traction is needed. The system has 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD modes, and the latter offers a classic rear-wheel drive experience. Thanks to the powerful engine and all-wheel drive system, the M4 Competition Convertible rockets from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.6 seconds. After several high-profile leaks, BMW has officially unveiled the 2019 M2 Competition. Looking instantly recognizable, the model replaces the previous M2 Coupe and features a modestly revised front fascia with a larger grille to help improve cooling. Additional styling changes are limited but the car has aerodynamic mirror caps, a black chrome exhaust system and restyled 19-inch wheels featuring Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The interior largely carries but there’s new M Sport seats that feature an illuminated M2 logo on the backrest. Drivers will also find a red push-button ignition and a sport steering wheel with M buttons which can store custom performance settings. Other highlights include “M2 Competition” sill plates, Alcantara accents and special seat belts which have BMW M stripes woven into them. BMW M is celebrating three decades of open air motoring by unveiling the new M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre. Available exclusively in Macao Blue or Mandarin II uni, the limited edition model features a unique exterior with BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trim on the grille, side vents and M4 badges. The car also boasts exclusive 20-inch wheels which are decked out in a matte Orbit Grey finish. The unique styling continues in the cabin as models equipped with Macao Blue paint will feature two-tone Merino leather seats with contrast stitching. Drivers will also find special floor mats, carbon fiber trim and “30 Jahre Edition” door sill plates. Last but not least, the passenger side dashboard trim strip will feature an individually numbered badge like the M3 Edition 30 Jahre. BMW has officially unveiled the new M4 GT4, following a teaser earlier. Shown during a special event at the Nürburgring, the M4 GT4 features a number of improvements which seek to increase mileage, cost efficiency, and ease of maintenance. The car's engine and transmission are borrowed from the M4 Coupe but the M4 GT4 is the first model from BMW Motorsport to be equipped with power sticks. BMW says they "can be pre-programmed for different engine performance levels" so customers can quickly react to "changes to the Balance of Performance in various races." Besides the new power sticks, the M4 GT4 has a roof, hood, and doors constructed out of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. BMW has dropped a new teaser of its upcoming M4 GT4 race car before the vehicle makes its debut at this weekend’s 24 Hours of Nurburgring. The car won’t compete competitively at the race and instead use the event as its first official test. Piloting BMW’s private racing car will be Dirk Adorf, Ricky Collard, Jorg Weidinger and journalist Jethro Bovingdon. The German automaker revealed a camouflaged prototype of the racer late last year and in the teaser image above and the video below, shows the M4 GT4 with its race-spec livery which incorporates the famed colors of BMW’s M division. A large wing also takes pride of place at the rear of the car. Designed as the replacement to the M3 GT4, the race-spec M4 will be evaluated by the FIA this weekend to determine how its performance will be balanced against its competitors. We all knew it was coming and at the Shanghai Auto Show, BMW has unveiled the M4 CS, a potent variant that slots between the M4 Competition Package and the range-topping M4 GTS. While BMW hasn't gone into specific production numbers, it's believed that as with the GTS, production of the M4 CS will be capped, as the Germans will manufacture the special edition only until the middle of next year, Being that the production run of the GTS has already concluded, the CS is now the most potent M4 in the company's range. The modifications start with the engine. BMW's M division has tweaked the familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine to now deliver 454 hp and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. It took BMW almost two years after announcing a  mid-cycle facelift for the 3-Series  in May of 2015, to bring a similar suite of updates for the related 4-Series family, which comprises the two-door Coupe, five-door Gran Coupe and the hardtop convertible.  Similarly to the 3-Series sedan, Touring and  more recently, the Gran Turismo , the updated 4-Series cars that will eventually arrive in North America as 2018MYs, feature mild (aka barely noticeable) design, chassis and engine updates.  The squint and you’ll miss it exterior revisions over the current 4-Series include the following: new LED headlights, front foglamps and tail lamps, which retain the same shape as before, but now feature graphics  similar to the 2012 concept ; modified air intakes on the front bumper; different line-specific applications and a redesigned rear apron.
