While all the lights are, rightfully, focused on Toyota’s brand-new (and long awaited) GR Supra, Lexus has just unveiled the 2020 Lexus RC F only hours before the opening of the Detroit Auto Show. The revamped RC F features redesigned headlights with stacked LEDs and integrated DRLs, a revised grille with a lower lip opening that stretches across the bottom, a reshaped rear bumper and new taillights. In addition to the cleaner exterior look, the 2020 RC F has a retuned suspension, with new steering rack mounts and stiffer bushings at the rear. It also has more rigid engine mounts as well, in addition to a weight reduction obtained by installing hollow half shafts at the rear, a smaller air conditioning compressor and aluminum toe control brackets and upper suspension support brackets. Lexus RC sales are trickling off, but the company is hoping to renew interest in the model by developing a range-topping RC F GT. Previewed by the RC F GT concept, the production model will be a track-oriented coupe that is designed to slot between the standard RC F and the RC F GT3 race car. Given this mission, the car has been equipped with an assortment of carbon fiber components including a ventilated hood, roof and side skirt extensions. Besides the carbon fiber goodies, the RC F GT has a revised grille with updated air ducts. Other notable changes include the addition of a large rear wing, a new rear bumper and a small diffuser. Interestingly, the car has also been equipped with a modified front bumper and new headlights. We can also see restyled mirrors which echo those used on the LC 500. Lexus is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the IS F bringing the firm’s ‘F’ sports models to the market with the launch of limited-edition versions of the both the RC F and GS F. Both the special models have been equipped with performance shock absorbers that provide better handling, and lightweight titanium mufflers. Additionally, the RC F and GS F adopt select carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts as well as matte grey paint finishes. Sticking with its more sports-oriented persona, the special-edition RC F has exposed carbon on the roof, hood, front splitter, side skirts, rear bumper and rear diffuser, making it look significantly more aggressive than a typical RC F. Additional exterior modifications include black wheels and blue brake calipers. Inside, the two-door has been equipped with blue leather on the seats, steering wheel, transmission tunnel and gear selector. With a more aerodynamic body, upgraded suspension, brakes, wheels, tires and a new interior, this custom LC 500 created by Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing is the highlight of Lexus'  SEMA stand . This also happens to be the world's first customized LC 500, a car that's not all show and no go seen as how its 471 HP 5.0-liter V8 engine was actually transformed into a 525 HP 5.6-liter unit. "The LC 500 looks beautiful and has a fantastic foundation of performance and driving characteristics,"  said Gordon Ting, Beyond Marketing.  "I wanted to use that groundwork to develop a high-performance, aggressive-looking LC 500 that is tough yet luxurious, and has serious chops thanks to the custom engine."
