Compared to the first Vision E which premiered in Shanghai, this updated version looks a little more like something that could spawn a prototype sometime in the near future. This Frankfurt-bound concept is Skoda's first-ever fully electric creation, one that is also capable of Level 3 autonomous driving, while traveling for up to 500 km (311 miles) in-between charges. Powering it is are two electric motors, with a combined output of 306 PS (302 HP/225 kW), sending juice to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive system. What started with a series of sketches and continued with a batch of leaked images, finally materialized at Skoda's booth in Shanghai, where the Vision E Concept celebrates its world premiere. Designed in the Czech Republic, the stylish sporty crossover has an appealing look on the outside, dominated by a bold front end with Matrix LED headlights joined together by a light strip that forms a 'phantom grille'. Furthermore, its sharp character lines, muscular hood, clean tailgate, suicide-opening rear doors, and massive wheels contribute to its unique character. Not to be confused with Skoda’s Vision E Coupe Crossover Concept, this is the Roewe Vision-E Concept, revealed in the lead up to the Shanghai Auto Show. Roewe, a brand created by SAIC Motor in 2006, isn’t a familiar name outside of China but its Vision-E Concept has a seriously impressive design that proves the Chinese can design and build vehicles that look just as good as those from the established European marques. Local media says the Vision-E Concept will spawn a production model next year that it will have a very similar design. The most immediate thing that attracts attention to the SUV is its front fascia, dominated by a huge grille that seamlessly joins to a set of LED headlights that incorporate six amber-colored lights on each side. The first pictures of the Skoda Vision E Concept have surfaced on the web, courtesy of Autowp, ahead of its official debut at the Shanghai Motor Show later this week. Previewed by a series of sketches, the electric concept looks better in the flesh as we can see it will be a stylish crossover with sharp character lines, a slender greenhouse, and massive alloy wheels. A closer inspection reveals a sculpted hood, a panoramic glass roof, and stylish LED lighting units. While we can only see a few darkened glimpses of the interior, Skoda has previously revealed the model will have four individual seats and a relatively open cabin that lacks a central transmission tunnel. Passengers will each be treated to their own infotainment system as well as a phone box with a wireless charger that is located in the door. In a couple of weeks, Skoda will take the wraps off its new Vision E concept at the Shanghai Motor Show. Set to debut at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show next month, the all-new Skoda Vision E Concept promises to be much more than a Kodiaq Coupe. In fact, unlike its sibling, the Vision E will be battery-powered with two electric motors producing 306 PS (302 HP), and a lithium-ion battery pack, which allows it to travel for up to 500 km (311 miles). This makes it part of the company's electrification plan that sees the addition of five zero-emission vehicles in different segments by 2025. Skoda has just dropped a teaser image of the new Vision E concept it will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show next month. Little official details about the vehicle are known but it could foretell the long-rumored Kodiaq Coupe, recently confirmed for production thanks to a company slide show from a Chinese presentation. In recent years, the Czech company has unveiled Vision D, Vision C and Vision S concepts and all three of these models have ultimately spawned production models, namely the Rapid, Octavia, Superb and the Kodiaq seven-seat SUV unveiled last year. As for the teaser, we can see that the Skoda in question will adopt a very sharp design that incorporates aggressive headlights and taillights as well as a sleek SUV roofline that is indicative of an SUV 'Coupe'.
