We’ve already seen the incredible 56-inch, triple-display, Hyperscreen dashboard inside the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS, and today we finally get to see if the rest of the package has the wow factor to match it. And while the production EQS doesn’t look quite as beautiful as 2019’s voluptuous Vision EQS concept, this EV alternative to the traditional S-class looks nothing like your usual Benz luxury car. It’s different under the skin, too. The EQS rides on a brand new dedicated EV platform that we’ll see more of next year when the smaller EQE is launched. At 207.3 inches (5265mm) from its stylish black nose to its smooth tail in US spec, the EQS is closer in length to the long-wheelbase S-class about to launch in North America than it is the short-wheelbase version offered elsewhere. If you wanted to know what luxury cars will look like in the future, the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS is here to answer such questions with its simple yet progressive styling, not to mention a properly tech-laden interior. The Vision EQS is also fully electric, featuring a 100 kWh battery and a total output of approximately 350 kW (476 PS / 470 HP). On paper, it can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4.5 seconds, will max out somewhere above 200 km/h (124 mph), and features a range of up to 700 km (435 miles). Daimler went with a flowing yet powerful sculpted exterior, with a continuous “lightbelt” structure that makes the overall design appear seamless. Smart has unveiled the facelifted EQ ForTwo and EQ ForFour. Set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10th, the models have a revised design that incorporates a number of styling cues from the ForEase and ForEase+ concepts. Starting up front, the cars have been equipped with a new fascia that features a prominent mesh grille. It’s flanked by newly optional LED headlights and a modified bumper with vertical openings near the outside edges. Additional changes are limited, but the cars have updated taillights with a rhombic design that consists of “hundreds of elaborately arranged” LEDs. The cabin largely carries over, but there are a handful of notable changes. First and foremost, there’s a new 8-inch infotainment system which promises a “seamless interaction” with a driver’s smartphone.  The infotainment system is also more intuitive and easier to use. Mercedes has used the Geneva Motor Show to introduce the EQ Silver Arrow 01. Set to compete in Formula E, the EQ Silver Arrow 01 is an electric race car that will help to promote electric vehicles such as the EQC crossover. It’s outfitted with a “teaser” livery that features blue horizontal lines and a star motif at the rear. The model also features EQ badging and blue accents on the wheels. According to Chief Design Officer, Gorden Wagener, “The Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 teaser car gives a foretaste of the first all-electric Silver Arrow from Mercedes-Benz.” He went on to say the teaser livery, with its “subtle contrast between matte and gloss,” conveys the concept of “progressive luxury in electric motorsport.” The EQ Silver Arrow 01 will enter competition later this year and Mercedes will become the only automaker to compete in both Formula 1 and Formula E. The electric vehicle wars are kicking into high gear as Mercedes has unveiled the highly anticipated EQC in Sweden. Set to compete with the upcoming Audi e-tron, the EQC was previewed by the Generation EQ concept and it features a “large black-panel surface enclosing the headlamps and grille.” While it’s not as distinctive as the front fascia used on the concept, it has fiber optic lights which effectively connect the LED headlights.  This promises to give the model an unmistakable appearance at night. Moving further back, the EQC has flowing bodywork and front fender vents with a high-gloss black finish. Other notable features include a dynamic roofline, high-gloss aluminum window surrounds and a charging port which is located just ahead of the taillight on the passenger side. Presented during Monterey Car Week, the Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow Concept has been created as a homage to the record-breaking Mercedes W125 from 1937. Penned by Mercedes-Benz chief design officer Gorden Wagener, the EQ Silver Arrow Concept epitomizes the firm’s ‘Sensual Purity’ design philosophy and provides seating for just one person. The vehicle’s entire body is made of lightweight carbon fiber and all up, it measures 5.3 meters (17.3 feet) long and is finished in a shade dubbed Alubeam Silver. Up front, you’ll notice a strip of light attaching the two headlights as well as an illuminated EQ badge at the front end. A lighting strip is also found stretching the length of the side skirts where another EQ badge is located. Other intriguing design elements of the vehicle include wheel covers that cover just the front half of the wheels, a rear wing that deploys outwards and upwards like the Mercedes-AMG Project One’s wing, and a large shark fin stretching back from...

Mercedes‘ EQ subrand will be in full force in Geneva with Smart joining the family with two electric versions of the ForTwo and ForFour. Offered in the Nightsky Edition, the battery-powered EQ ForTwo Coupe and Cabrio are the first to go on sale this spring, from €28,255 ($34,800) and €31,515 ($38,816), respectively, in Germany, tax included. They will be followed by the EQ ForFour Nightsky Edition in the third quarter of the year, whose pricing will be announced close to its launch. Both of them feature a fast-charging function. All Smart vehicles with electric drive come with a 4.6 kW on-board charger as standard.
