After 10 years, the Lamborghini Aventador’s run has come to an end. The Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae will be the supercar’s final iteration, after which a new flagship will succeed it. Just 600 units of the Ultimae will be built, 350 coupes and 250 roadsters. Seeing as this car is meant to be the grand finale of the traditional V12 combustion engine, Lamborghini has set out to make the Ultimae the ultimate Aventador in every sense. To do that, they combined the more reserved styling cues of the Aventador S with the insane performance of the SVJ, leading to the definitive all-round Lamborghini supercar. The Aventador Ultimae’s 6.5-liter V12 that revs to 8,700 rpm produces 770 hp (780 PS / 574 kW) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque, which is 39 hp (40 PS / 29 kW) more than the S and 10 hp (10 PS / 7 kW) more than even the SVJ. As a result of those uprated figures and various weight saving measures, the car weighs 55 lb (25 kg) less than the S and has the same power-to-weight ratio as the SVJ....

Meet the Lamborghini’s latest Squadra Corsa project; the one-off SC20. This custom-designed and built roadster was created at Lamborghini Centro Stile, to the exact specifications of an unnamed customer, who was involved in the project from the very beginning. Even though it was designed as a hardcore open-top track car, the new Lamborghini SC20 is also type-approved for road use. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, producing 760 HP (770 PS) at 8,500 rpm and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque at 6,750 rpm. Monterey Car Week continues as Lamborghini has taken the wraps off the new Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster. Following in the footsteps of last year’s SVJ 63 coupe, the roadster is a limited edition supercar that pays tribute to the company’s founding in 1963. Jointly created by Lamborghini’s Centro Stile and Ad Personam teams, the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster will be available in eight exclusive “design expressions.” Each will feature matte or shiny carbon fiber on the windshield frame, engine cover and roof. The car also has an SVJ 63 livery and special Leirion forged wheels with a matte titanium finish. Interior changes are minor, but drivers will find carbon fiber trim, CarbonSkin accents and one of three different Alcantara color schemes.  There’s also individually numbered badges. The Geneva Motor Show is shaping up to be a showcase of high-performance drop tops as Lamborghini has introduced the Aventador SVJ Roadster, hours after the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster made its debut. While the Mercedes uses a familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, the Aventador SVJ Roadster has a massive 6.5-liter V12 engine that develops 759 hp (566 kW / 770 PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed ISR transmission and an all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the SVJ to rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) in 8.8 seconds. Given enough room, the roadster will eventually hit a top speed in excess of 217 mph (350 km/h). The performance specifications are virtually identical to the coupe, but the roadster is a tad slower from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h). The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has finally premiered at the Monterey Car Week and yes, it’s everything we’d been hoping for. As you’ll probably know by now, the Aventador SVJ is the most hardcore mid-engine Lamborghini ever and pushes the performance boundaries to heights previously unexplored by the Italian automaker. In fact, the car set a production car lap record at the Nurburgring during its development. Under the skin, Lamborghini has fettled with the naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine so it now delivers 770 hp and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. Consequently, the SVJ can rocket to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a blistering 2.8 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 8.6 seconds and continue through to a 216 mph (350 km/h) top speed. Lamborghini has released the first official teaser image of the hardcore Aventador SVJ prior to the car’s world premiere at Pebble Beach on August 23. The Italian marque has been surprisingly open with the vehicle’s development in recent months, dropping comprehensive galleries and videos of prototypes testing in eye-catching orange, black, and white camouflage. This teaser provides us with the first taste of the vehicle’s exterior sans camouflage and it makes the supercar look even crazier. The image offers a bird’s eye view of the Lamborghini badge and two air vents featured on the hood. These vents form part of the Aventador SVJ’s Lamborghini Active Aerodynamics technology and are surrounded by sharp lines and aggressive creases not visible on the camouflaged prototypes. The upcoming Aventador SVJ is not only the fastest production car around the Nurburgring, but it also marks the end of an era for Lamborghini, as it will reportedly be the company’s last V12-powered supercar without any form of electrification. The news came straight from Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini’s R&D boss, who told Top Gear that “this is the last time the V12 will be on its own“. That’s right; next time you see a Lamborghini V12 model, it will be electrically assisted. The fourth Lamborghini Aventador SVJ teaser shows the supercar bravely attacking the Nurburgring in a timed lap, and revealing another “best”: the “aerodynamic efficiency”. Equipped with the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), or active aerodynamics in plain English, the supercar appears to have shattered the Nurburgring lap record of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. In a report published and removed by AMS, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is said to have lapped the German track in 6:44.95. That’s some 2+ seconds quicker than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which did it in 6 minutes and 47.3 seconds last fall. In turn, the German supercar stole the crown from the Lamborghini Huracan Performante’s head, which ran the 20.6km (12.8mi) long course in 6:52.01 six months earlier. Lamborghini has confirmed that the upcoming hardcore Aventador will be called SVJ, signaling the return of the iconic Jota name. The Italian car maker released a short video showing the very same test car we’ve seen before being driven flat out at the Nurburgring, under the title “Aventador SVJ meets the Nurburgring”. It’s been reported before that the Italian car maker has already broken the production car lap record set by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS with the Aventador SVJ, which allegedly posted a 6min 45sec lap time, two seconds quicker than the Porsche. Evidently satisfied with the attention the Huracan Performante has garnered in the past six months, the Italian marque has turned its attention to its latest, performance-focused supercar, this time based around the Aventador. Potentially adopting the Performante badge as well, the car will be based on the recently facelifted Aventador S and as these images show, benefit from a plethora of performance modifications. For starters, the rear of the Aventador Performante includes a custom engine cover, tweaked rear air vents, a bespoke diffuser and perhaps most notably, a set of dual tailpipes exiting from the center of the rear fascia, just like the hardcore Huracan that bears the same name. Lamborghini has celebrated its 50th anniversary in Japan by staging the Asian debut of the Aventador S Roadster in the country and introducing a new limited edition model. Called the "Aventador S Roadster 50th Anniversary Japan," the special edition will pay tribute to the five natural elements of Japanese culture including earth, wind, fire, sky, and water. Production will be limited to five units and each one is billed as a one-off model as it draws inspiration from one of the aforementioned elements. The water version was displayed during Lamborghini Day in Tokyo and features a unique paint job that required ten people and 170 hours of labor to complete. The end result is pretty impressive as the black and blue combination blends perfectly with the exposed carbon fiber accents on the windscreen frame and hard top.
