2022 BMW 2-Series Coupe Debuts With Slick Styling And Up To 382 HP, But No Manual Yet

Image
The 2022 BMW 2-Series Coupe was one of the worst kept secrets in Germany, but it’s finally official as the company has introduced the model ahead of its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Its predecessor was a favorite of enthusiasts and that should continue as the coupe adopts a modern design that thankfully eschews the buck tooth grille of the larger 4-Series. Instead, there’s a fairly conventional grille which is flanked by sweptback headlights and angular air intakes. Continuing down the sides, the coupe has pronounced wheel arches and streamlined bodywork. Designers also gave the car a more prominent shoulder line, an evolutionary greenhouse and flush door handles. Out back, there’s a short trunk with an integrated spoiler. Other highlights include distinctive taillights and an edgy rear bumper. The M240i is distinguished by an aggressive front bumper, a cerium grey grille surround and unique mirror caps. The model also sports Shadowline trim, special exhaust tips and a smal...

2022 Genesis G80 Sport Unveiled With Styling Tweaks And Rear-Wheel Steering

Image
This is our first look at the 2022 Genesis G80 Sport with a slightly more dynamic design than the standard model. Ever since the latest-generation G80 was unveiled, there has been speculation that Genesis would launch a Sport variant, as that’s exactly what it did with the previous G80. While technical specifications about the new model haven’t been announced, these images showcase a number of unique features. Found at the front of the 2022 G80 Sport is a grille finished in dark glossy chrome and a revised front bumper that is sharper and more aggressive than lesser G80s. The dark glossy chrome finish continues across the sides of the luxury sedan. A unique set of 20-inch alloy wheels are also featured as are brake calipers available in black and red. Alterations are less apparent at the rear but do include dark glossy chrome on the tailgate. There’s also a new bumper and a subtle diffuser. Buyers of the G80 Sport will be able to order it in an exclusive color dubbed Cavendish Red, nam...

The 2022 Cayenne Turbo GT Is The Fastest And Quickest Porsche SUV Ever Made

Image
Porsche has taken the wraps off their latest addition to the Cayenne Coupe line-up, introducing the new 2022 Cayenne Turbo GT.  The Turbo GT seems to have dropped the “Coupe” from its official moniker, but rest assured it’s a trim level exclusive to the Cayenne Coupe. It’s also the ranger topper for the model, slotting in above both the Turbo and the S E-Hybrid. The unveiling comes just a week ahead of the Cayenne Turbo GT’s first public outing, which will take place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from the 8th–11th of July. The new car promises to be the fastest-ever production Cayenne and one of the fastest SUVs on offer. The Cayenne Turbo GT retains the four-liter twin-turbo V8 that powers the Turbo Coupe, but does so with a power boost of 90 PS (67 kW/90 HP), giving it a total of 640 PS (471 kW/631 hp). Torque is up by 80 Nm to 850 Nm (626 lb.-ft) too. The bump in power isn’t down to a simple remap, as some may assume. Instead, Porsche has created their most potent eight-cyli...

2022 Porsche 911 Range Expands With New GTS Coupe, Convertible And Targa Models

Image
One of the few certain things in this life beyond taxes and death is Porsche’s uncanny dedication to its family of 911 models. The more the merrier for Porsche which just a week after the presentation of the wingless 911 GT3 Touring has further expanded the fam with the return of the GTS moniker for the 992-generation series. Arriving in the U.S. early next year, the new 911 GTS series models are available in rear- and all-wheel drive coupe and convertible configurations as well as an all-wheel drive only Targa variant. Powering them all is a tweaked 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six making 473-hp (480 PS / 353 kW) and 420 lb-ft (570Nm), or a healthy 30-hp and 15 lb-ft (20 Nm) more than your run of the mill Carrera S. If you go with the eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK), Porsche claims that the Carrera 4 GTS will hit 100km/h (62mph) in 3.3 seconds, or 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor. There’s also the option of a seven-speed manual gearbox with what Porsche d...

2022 Infiniti QX60 Unveiled With Upscale Looks, Modern Tech, And Semi-Autonomous Tech

Image
Ininfiti‘s QX60 midsize three-row crossover was getting long in the tooth, going nearly a decade without many significant updates. Back in September, we got a taste of what the refreshed crossover would look like with the QX60 Monograph concept. Now the production version is finally here, and it has a lot to offer. The 2022 QX60’s design has been changed to be more in line with Infiniti’s current offerings, and features styling nearly identical to the aforementioned QX60 Monograph. Infiniti calls it a combination of “powerful athleticism with harmony and simplicity”, and with its thin lighting elements, gaping grille, and muscular yet smooth fenders, we’d say that’s a fitting description. The fine details of the design are meant to invoke the spirit of Japan, with things like kimono folds in the “Digital Piano Key” headlights, origami in the grille mesh, and a rippling pond in the quilted leather interior. The Moonbow Blue paint is said to be reminiscent of a summer sky at dusk and fea...

2022 Lexus NX Revealed, Gets PHEV Too

Image
Lexus is embarking on a major product push, which will see the brand launch 20 new or updated vehicles by 2025. That offensive is kicking into high gear with the unveiling of the 2022 NX. Redesigned from the ground up, the 2022 Lexus NX looks like a crossover-ified version of the IS sport sedan. It features an all-new front fascia with a revised spindle grille that has “tall U-shaped blocks” for a more three-dimensional appearance. The grille is flanked by vertical air intakes and redesigned headlights with integrated daytime running lights. This is a notable change as it means the NX no longer resembles a rolling Nike advertisement. Continuing down the sides, we can see evolutionary bodywork and a distinctive shoulder line. The rear end is also familiar, but it adopts full-width taillights and “Lexus” lettering that replaces the circular “L” emblem. Moving inside, the cabin has been completely reimagined with higher quality materials and a modern design. The stars of the show are a 7-...

2022 BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe Is Bigger And Handles Better Than Its Predecessor

Image
BMW has just unveiled the second-generation 4-Series Gran Coupe prior to its U.S. launch in August. Compared to its predecessor, the new 4-Series Gran Coupe is 5.9-inches longer, 1-inch wider, and 2.1-inches taller. The track has also grown by 1.6-inches in the front and 0.7 inches in the rear while the wheelbase is 1.8-inches longer than before. Those in the U.S. will be able to buy it in 430i Gran Coupe and M440i xDrive Gran Coupe variants. Power for the 430i Gran Coupe comes courtesy of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is rated at 255 hp and 296 lb-ft of torque, allowing the car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.8 seconds. The M440i xDrive Gran Coupe offers up much more performance than this thanks to the use of a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder that works alongside a 48-volt starter-generator. It produces a combined 382 hp and 369 lb-ft and sends this flagship model to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Fitted as standard to the M440i is an M Sport exhaust system. Both variants utili...

2022 BMW i4 M50: The First Electric M Car Has 536-HP For About 10 Seconds And A $65,900 Price Tag

Image
BMW took the wraps off the sporty i4 M50 today. The marriage of the i and M subbrands, the car will be the first electric M car ever produced. Well, at least according to the German automaker, as to our ears it sounds more like an M Performance recipe than a thoroughbred M model. Finished in Frozen Portimao Blue and featuring blacked-out trim and carbon fiber add ons, the 2022 BMW i4 M50 promises to bring the visual flair and aggression of the M brand into the brand’s electric future. To ensure it can keep up with the rest of the M lineup, it will offer a combined output of 536 horsepower (544 PS) and 586 lb-ft of torque from its two electric motors, including a 255hp front and 308hp rear motor, controlled by a single speed transmission. However, note that those peak figures are achieved momentarily through a Sport Boost function that increases the system’s combined drive power by 67 hp and torque by 48 lb-ft for a little over 10 seconds. Otherwise, combined output is reduced to 469 hp...
