The Porsche Macan Turbo is back for the 2020 model year following the unveiling of the updated Macan last year. Powering the previous Macan Turbo was a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine but that engine has been replaced with a smaller 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 delivering 434 hp from 5700 rpm and 6600 rpm and 405 lb-ft (549 Nm) of torque from 1800 rpm to 5600 rpm. Grunt is transmitted to the ground through a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive. The German carmaker quotes a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 4.3 seconds, three tenths quicker than the old car, and a top speed of 167 mph (270 km/h) with the available Sport Chrono Package. Porsche has just made an official announcement saying that the next-generation Macan SUV will be a fully electric model, marking the automaker’s first-ever such product for this segment. It will roll off the assembly line at the start of the next decade. Until that time, Porsche will work towards launching the all-electric Taycan, which is expected to arrive at the end of this year, followed shortly by its Taycan Cross Turismo sibling. “Electromobility and Porsche go together perfectly; not just because they share a high-efficiency approach, but especially because of their sporty character,” said Porsche board chairman, Oliver Blume. “By 2022 we will be investing more than six billion euros in electric mobility, and by 2025 50% of all new Porsche vehicles could have an electric drive system. Nevertheless, over the next ten years we will focus on a drive mix consisting of even further optimised petrol engines, plug-in hybrid models, and purely electrically operated sports cars....

Porsche has lifted the veils off the facelifted 2019 Macan which now features a refreshed exterior styling and a revamped cabin with more tech features. The most distinctive visual change can be found at the back, with the Macan now featuring a three-dimensional LED strip across its tail, bringing it in line with the rest of the Porsche lineup. At the front, the new Macan gets redesigned LED headlights as standard and Porsche’s Dynamic Light System Plus as an option. Porsche has also added new colors to the Macan’s palette, including Miami Blue, Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Crayon. The facelift also brought a range of new driver assistance systems to the Macan, including Porsche’s Traffic Jam Assist. Porsche has announced a new Performance package for the range-topping Macan Turbo, adding a bit more poke to  an already seriously fast crossover .  The twin-turbo 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine now delivers 434hp (440PS), almost 40hp more than  the standard Turbo model , with peak torque risen to 442lb-ft (600Nm) which represents a 37lb-ft increase. The 0-62mph (0-100km/h) sprint now takes just 4.4 seconds, 0.4 of a second faster, while top speed is set at 169mph (272km/h).  Moving on to the chassis, the new Performance package adds 30 mm larger brake discs at the front, measuring 390mm in diameter, which are gripped by six-piston calipers. The suspension now offers a 15mm lower ride height, with the optional self-levelling air suspension also lowered by 10mm. The Stuttgart-based manufacturer's storm of four-pot mills hasn’t stopped with the  "new" 718 Boxster  roadster. The new, entry model of the  Macan  uses a 2-liter, direct-injected, petrol unit, which operates with up to two bar of boost pressure, producing 252 PS (248 HP) from 5,000 to 6,800 rpm and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque between 1,600 and 4,500 rpm.  Connected to a standard 7-speed PDK dual-clutch,  like the existing versions , it needs 6.7 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) and 6.5 with the optional Sport Chrono-Package, while top speed stands at 229 km/h (142 mph). According to the NEDC, depending on the wheel and tire combo, the average consumption is 7.4 lt/100 km to 7.2 lt/100 km (31.79-32.67 mpg US).
