Hyundai says it’s breaking new ground with the brand new 2022 Santa Cruz. The unibody pickup eschews the boxy proportions of traditional pickups in favor of a youthful design based on its crossovers. The connection to Hyundai’s crossovers is clear, as the Santa Cruz is kinda like a Tucson, only with an open bed added behind the second row of seats. That’s not to say that the two are identical; the front end design may follow the same philosophy but it’s different, while at 118.3 inches, the Santa Cruz’s wheelbase is 9.8 inches longer than that of the new Tucson, and it also has a 12.4-inch bigger overall length, at 195.7 inches. This is the new 2021 F-150 Raptor, Ford’s Baja-inspired super truck that now enters its third generation claiming to be even more off-road capable, more connected, and perhaps more importantly even better at jumping over stuff. Ford is well aware of the F-150 Raptor’s iconic status and popularity, saying that over the last four years, the previous-generation model cumulatively outsold Porsche’s entire lineup of sports cars and also surpassed Chevrolet’s Corvette in sales. At launch, the new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will be available with an updated twin-turbo 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 but way more interestingly, the carmaker did confirm the existence of the highly-anticipated Raptor R model with a V8 engine, which will debut next year. The 2022 F-150 Raptor R will be Ford’s answer to the 702 HP RAM 1500 TRX, and will most likely borrow the supercharged Predator V8 from the 760 HP Mustang Shelby GT500, possibly at a slightly de-tuned state. Nearly four years after Ram unveiled the Rebel TRX concept, the company has introduced the production model. Billed as the fastest and most powerful mass production pickup, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 702 hp (523 kW / 712 PS) and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired to an upgraded eight-speed automatic transmission and an off-road focused four-wheel drive system.  This setup enables the truck to post some remarkable performance figures as the TRX hits 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and can run the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph (174 km/h).  Given enough room, the model will eventually hit a top speed of 118 mph (190 km/h). Elon Musk unveiled Tesla’s hotly anticipated Cybertruck all-electric pickup on Thursday night in California. This may sound odd, but when we first saw the wedge-shaped truck that has the presence of an autocratic government’s police vehicle from a 1990s dystopian future film, we thought he might be kidding, waiting to pull a switcheroo on us. Turns out, he wasn’t. As with the Palto Alto company’s other endeavors, Tesla wants to disrupt the heavily contested, yet hugely lucrative, especially in the United States, pickup truck segment. Seven years in the making, the Cybertruck, or CYBRTRK, as some at Tesla like calling it, is a futuristic looking, albeit unpolished, wedge-shaped full size pickup truck. After turning the Ford Raptor into a six-wheeler, Hennessey Performance decided to do the same for the 2019/2020 Chevrolet Silverado. The result is this, the aptly named Goliath 6×6. The very first example of the new Hennessey truck, which was first previewed back in 2018, is based on the Trail Boss Z71 and comes with a complete 6×6 conversion featuring an all-new rear suspension system along with an extra axle. In addition, the whole truck gets an eight-inch suspension lift kit, a set of 20-inch Hennessey wheels wrapped in 37-inch BFG off-road tires, new bumpers, a roll bar, LED auxiliary lights and a custom, longer bed. Shortly after confirming that the Tesla Model Y will premiere on March 14, Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has announced that the firm’s long-awaited pickup truck will debut later this year. Musk has spoken about the Tesla pickup truck on a number of occasions in recent months and has been unable to control his excitement for the vehicle. He reiterated this excitement in a Twitter post. “Personally, I’m most excited by the Tesla Truck. Maybe it will be too futuristic for most people, but I love it,” he wrote. Tesla has only ever released a single teaser image of its upcoming pickup. The image was released back in late 2017 when the car manufacturer unveiled the Tesla Semi and second-generation Tesla Roadster. Not long after introducing some smaller GMC Sierra models earlier this month, the automaker has lifted the veil on the all-new 2020 Sierra Heavy Duty. GMC has outfitted the heavy duty pickup with a plethora of new features. One of the most important updates is the ProGrade Trailering System. This system provides the driver with 15 camera views, including a transparent trailer view that allows those behind the wheel to tow with ease. Other features of the ProGrade Trailering System are a Trailer Light Test, Trailer Electrical Diagnostics, Trailer Tire Pressure and Temperature Monitoring, Pre-Maintenance Reminders and a Departure Checklist. The all-new 2019 Ram Heavy Duty is finally here, and is billed as the most powerful and capable pickup in the segment. Ram backs these claims with the new model’s 35,100-lb (14,288-kg) towing capacity and a payload capacity of 7,680 lbs (3,483 kg). These impressive specs are made possible by the new 6.7-liter Cummins inline six-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 400 hp at 2,800 rpm and up 1,000 lb-ft (1,354 Nm) of torque at 1,800 rpm. There’s also a de-tuned version of the same power plant that delivers 370 hp at 2,800 rpm and 850 lb-ft (1,151 Nm) of torque at 1,700 rpm that’s available on the 2019 Ram 3500 HD.
