ABT’s 530PS Audi RS4-R Avant Is All The Super-Estate You’ll Ever Need

Image
The new generation Audi RS4 Avant has fallen into the hands of ABT Sportsline once more, only to come out even hotter than before. By fitting the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with an engine control unit, and a high-performance exhaust system, the tuner’s engineers were able to lift the output to 530PS (523hp) and 690Nm (509lb-ft) of torque. This represents a 20PS (20hp) and 10Nm (7lb-ft) of torque increase over their previous RS4 project, and 80PS (79hp) and 90Nm (66lb-ft) of torque more than the stock car. Cornering performance is said to be enhanced by the sport stabilizers and height adjustable suspension springs. Those looking for a bit more will have to wait for the ‘shock absorber setup’, which is currently in development with KW. Alongside the 102mm carbon tailpipes, the super wagon also has a host of visual updates on the outside, such as the tweaked grille, bumpers, and rear diffuser. As a final touch, the Audi RS4 Avant rides on 21-inch wheels, shod i...

2018 Audi RS4 Avant Has 450PS, Does 0-100km/h In 4.1Sec

Image
After dropping the veils off the limited edition R8 V10 RWS last night, Audi has now presented the new generation RS4 Avant, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Motivation comes from a 2.9-liter TFSI biturbo V6 engine that makes 450PS (444hp) and 600Nm (443lb-ft) of torque, pushed to the Quattro all-wheel drive through a tweaked 8-speed automatic transmission, with optimized gear changing. The 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint takes just 4.1 seconds, and top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h (155mph), but it can be increased to 280km/h (174mph), with the optional RS Dynamic Package. By comparison, it's 0.1sec faster than the Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate, which carries a twin-turbo V8 engine, married to a 7-speed gearbox. Despite the impressive output and performance, the all-new Audi RS4 Avant is said to return an average fuel consumption of just 8.8 l/100 km (32.1 mpg UK / 26.73 mpg US), and to emit 199 g/km of CO2, in an efficiency gain of 17 percent, compared ...

Audi Confirms New RS4 Avant And Two Concepts For Frankfurt

Image
After years of testing and months of speculation, Audi will finally pull the cover off the new RS4 Avant, during the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the German automaker, "the fourth generation of the high-performance Avant is another impressive chapter in the success story of the first RS model, the RS 2 Avant". From previous reports, we know that the company's challenger to the likes of the Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate will use a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, made by Porsche. The total output is believed to stand north of the 450PS (444hp) mark, thus enabling the hot wagon to reach 100km/h (62mph), from a standstill, in less than 4 seconds. Audi will also unveil "a limited special model with rear-wheel drive", at the German event. This is expected to be the R8 GT, a RWD version of the supercar that will take its Italian cousin - the Lamborghini Huracan 580-2, by its horns. Two concept cars, featuring Level 4 and Level 5 automated driving, will ...
