In keeping with tradition, Porsche has expanded the trim lineup of an already expanded model lineup with the introduction of a new member of the 911 GT3 sub-family, the 911 GT3 Touring. Whereas other companies may have just offered a rear-wing delete option, Porsche thinks it deserves its own nameplate. Described as a “subtler choice that retains every ounce of the excitement, the feel and the performance you expect”, the GT3 Touring is available as a no-cost equipment package. Beyond getting rid of the huge fixed rear wing in favor of a hidden, automatically extending rear spoiler, the only other differences over the regular GT3 concern some minor trim changes, including the aluminum window outlines, the Touring badges, and a color-coded front spoiler (instead of being blacked out). This is it, one of the most anticipated sports car launched of the year, the all-new 2022 Porsche 911 GT3. Porsche has finally revealed the 992-based GT3 following years of camouflaged test cars spotted testing on race tracks and public roads. Let’s get the headline figures out of the way first; the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that can rev up to 9,000 rpm and produce 502 HP and 346 lb-ft (469 Nm) of torque. As standard, every new 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 will be fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, but the six-speed manual will still be an option. 0-60 mph (96 km/h) comes in just 3.2 seconds for the PDK-equipped 911 GT3 (0-100 km/h in 3.4), with the top speed set at 197 mph (317 km/h). Aston Martin Racing has revealed the new Vantage GT3 and GT4 race cars at Le Mans, with the Vantage GT3 to make its racing debut this weekend at the Aston Martin Racing Le Mans Festival. The British marque’s new customer racing cars are derived from the Vantage GTE, which will also participate at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. All three racing versions of the new Aston Martin Vantage are powered by the turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 unit found in the road car and optimised by Aston Martin Racing. The Vantage GT3 racing car tips the scales at 1245kg (2,744lbs) dry and produces around 535hp and 700Nm (516lb-ft) of torque, depending on boost pressure. The race car features a steel roll cage, an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox, an Alcon multiplate clutch, Öhlins four-way adjustable dampers and Alcon brakes. As the 992-generation Porsche 911 is fast approaching, the German marque has decided now is the perfect time to send out the current 991.2-generation model with a bang. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the facelifted 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, leaked online via three low-resolution images. First published, and since deleted, by Australian publication Drive, these images reveal that the updated GT3 RS receives all the same styling modifications as the 991.2 911 GT3 and mixes them with the more overt aerodynamic elements required of any RS-branded model. With this in mind, the new GT3 RS receives the same angular front air intakes and thin LED daytime running lights as the GT3. McLaren will start testing the new 720S GT3 race car in 2018, with first customer teams receiving their cars by 2019 but that’s not the only news coming from the British supercar maker. The company has also successfully established a global network of specialist motorsport retailers, with plans to launch a one-make GT-racing series and a Driver Development Programme in 2018. As for the new 720S GT3, McLaren released the first concept sketches and also said that they will start its development in 2018. A race-prepped version of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter M840T V8 will be paired to a six-speed sequential transmission while the bodywork will be significantly optimised with a bespoke aerodynamic package. Following the unveiling of the Vantage earlier, Aston Martin Racing has taken the wraps off the new Vantage GTE. Developed alongside the road-going model, the Vantage GTE is a purpose-built race car which will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The model has been designed for the GTE class and Aston Martin Racing has already logged more than 13,000 km (8,077 miles) during its development including a successful 30-hour run at the Spanish circuit of Navarra. Aston Martin was tight-lipped about technical specifications but the car has been equipped with a front splitter, a ventilated hood, and a side-exiting exhaust system. The car also features lightweight windows, aerodynamic mirrors, and racing wheels. Other notable changes include the addition of a rear wing and a massive diffuser. Bentley and its racing partners have done pretty well with the old Continental GT3, though now that there's a new Continental GT hitting the road, a new contender for the track will also be on its way. Today, Bentley has revealed the first images and details of the all-new Continental GT3, and it looks properly menacing. Steered in partnership between Bentley Motorsports and racing consultancy M-Sport (which just won the World Rally Championship), the fresh racer is based on the new Conti's aluminum-intensive structure to help trim its weight down to “significantly less than 1,300 kg” (2,866 pounds). Add into the mix a reworked version of the existing 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, with a new intake, exhaust, and dry-sump lubrication system. Unrestricted, Bentley says it'd be capable of producing “in excess of 550 horsepower” – a good bit more than the 521 hp in the outgoing Continental GT V8 S, and starting to nudge the heavier W12. Porsche continues to prove that it’s a master creator of niches with yet another new edition of their 911 based on the GT3, the Touring Package (TP). It borrows its name from an equipment variant of the 911 Carrera RS from 1973. Available exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the new 911 GT3 Touring Package follows close on the heels of the similarly fashioned 911 R. However, unlike the latter that was limited to just 991 units resulting in outrageous prices in the used car market this one will be produced as a regular model. While maintaining the same naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat six with 500PS (493hp) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) as the original 911 GT3 that results in a 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 3.9 sec and a top speed of 316 km/h (196mph) or 2mph less than the standard car, the TP is less extreme offering more equipment for the same price. Mercedes-AMG is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the Nürburgring 24-hour race by unveiling the new GT3 Edition 50. Based on the Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car, the Edition 50 features a bespoke gray paint job with contrasting black stripes on the hood. The model also has "50 Years AMG" badging on the doors, seating harnesses, and hood. Since the car was designed for racing, it has an aggressive carbon fiber body kit that includes new bumpers, revised side skirts, and ventilated front fenders. The GT3 also has carbon fiber flics, a rear diffuser, and a massive rear wing. The changes continue in the cabin as drivers will a carbon fiber racing seat, a roll cage, and a small steering wheel.
