2018 Buick Enclave Is All-New And Welcomes Luxurious Aveniur Sub-Brand

Image
Buick has just premiered the latest-generation Enclave mid-size SUV at the New York Auto Show and with it, launched the new Avenir sub-brand. Officially coined the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir, the new SUV is a radical departure from the current Enclave and incorporates an overhauled design and a suite of new technologies. Compared to the current model and its curious minivan-esque design, the 2018 Enclave looks like a far more traditionally shaped SUV and includes slim new headlights, prominent body creases running down the sides and narrow taillights that are complemented by slim rear side windows and silver D-pillars. Although the new exterior design will encourage some new buyers, it is perhaps the revised interior that is the real selling point. Among the safety equipment that comes standard is rear park assist, a rear vision camera and seven air bags. There’s also keyless entry, a hands-free power-programmable liftgate, tri-zone climate control, universal home remote and pu...

2018 Buick Enclave SUV Sketched Out Ahead Of New York Show

Image
What you see here is the first official teaser of Buick’s all-new 2018 Enclave that will premiere in the flesh at next month’s 2017 New York Auto Show. To say that a replacement for the Enclave is long-overdue, is an understatement, as the current, first generation model has been on the market for a full decade, having launched in April of 2007.  The new model will share its bones with the latest 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, so expect loads of space with three full-size rows of seats, and very likely, the same powertrain offerings. These should include a base 255hp 2.0-liter force-fed four and a range-topping 305hp 3.6-liter V6, both paired to a nine-speed automatic driving the front or optionally, all-four wheels.  Where the two similarly sized models from GM will differ are their designs, with spy shots of the Enclave suggesting signature cues from the Avenir concept and recent models like the LaCrosse and the upcoming Regal (a twin to Opel’s Insignia). The new Enclave ...

New-Gen Buick Enclave Coming To NY Auto Show

Image
Previewed by a concept car in 2006 and presented in final production form the year after, the current generation Buick Enclave is now facing the axe. However, since there is an increased demand for crossovers and SUVs, the GM-owned brand already has a successor in the pipeline, which, according to AutoNews, will arrive in the very near future. Set to debut this spring at the 2017 New York Auto Show, and to go on sale around mid-year, the all-new Buick Enclave will adopt the company's new design language that was first seen on the Avenir study, with a similarly shaped grille and lighting units, on both sides, and a cleaner-looking body. Details surrounding its cabin are scarce for now, but we should expect a new layout, alongside some fresh technology and a bundle of driver assist features. The 2018 Buick Enclave will probably share the same architecture with the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, namely the C1XX platform, and while the automaker is keeping all these details a secr...
