Life is tough sometimes. Say you’re considering a Rolls-Royce convertible. But what you really want is a two-seater, and Goodwood only makes the Dawn with four. So what to do? The Dawn Aero Cowling could be your answer. It’s a specially crafted cover that goes over the rear seats of the Dawn cabriolet to give it more of a roadster-like profile. The unit is made of carbon fiber and aluminum to keep it nice and light, and is covered in the finest of leathers to match the interior. It even has storage compartments integrated into it to make it more versatile. And we gather that it’s removable to transform the Dawn back into a four-seater when needed. Rolls-Royce has officially unveiled the all-new Phantom which seeks to reclaim its title as the most luxurious vehicle in the world. Looking instantly recognizable, the redesigned flagship has been created to deliver "new levels of iconic presence and an increased elegance." Starting with the front, designers installed a taller grille which sees the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament sit approximately a half inch higher than on its predecessor. Besides being larger, the grille has been integrated into the surrounding bodywork for the first time which results in a cleaner and more modern appearance. The grille is flanked by new laserlight headlights which are surrounded by an "expressive ring of daytime driving lights." Rolls-Royce says the headlights are the most advanced in the world and will cast light well over 600 meters (1,968 feet) down the road. Rolls Royce released one more teaser of the new Phantom as well as the final three Phantoms set to participate at the company’s event called “The Great Eight Phantoms”, where the new model will be revealed on July 27. While we’ve might have already seen the new Phantom thanks to a recent leak, the British luxury car maker released a shady image showing the profile of the new Phantom’s front end. The other three Phantoms include the State Limousine first used by the Queen of England in 1977 which features a custom bodywork with a raised roofline for better visibility during official ceremonies. The second car is the Phantom IV that belonged to Aga Khan, the leader of the Nizari Ismaili Muslim community. Rolls-Royce has confirmed that the new Phantom will debut on July 27 and has released two teaser images of the car. The two pictures suggest that the design of the 2018 Phantom won’t be radically overhauled from the outgoing model, allowing the car to still remain easily identifiable as the marque’s range-topping model. The first teaser shows off the Phantom’s revised front grille and the customary Spirit of Ecstasy flying above it. As for the second teaser, it reveals the passenger side of the dashboard and shows a wooden accent with a very detailed pattern. An analogue clock can also be seen. Rolls-Royce has  pulled the plug  on the seventh generation Phantom, following 13 years of production. Commissioned by a renowned Rolls-Royce collector, the final example is a one-off special, based on the long wheelbase version of the car, and featuring a long list of items that mimic a 1930s  ocean liner . Finished in Blue Velvet and  completed with  a twin coachline with ocean liner motif to the shoulder, this special Rolls also benefits from a solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy, and pinstripe tires. Its  maritime theme is continued inside , where the automaker added two clocks, in tone with the classic ship radio clocks. Both are housed within a grooved bezel with 24 time zones, allowing owners to rotate them in either direction, depending on what part of the globe they are in. Rolls-Royce has announced that the all-new Phantom will hit the market in two years and released a teaser image of its new all-aluminum hi-tech chassis.  Development of the  next big Rolls  has entered an “advanced stage” according to the company while demand for the current model remains strong since the announcement of its production ending in this December. All 50 of the  final Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe Zenith Collection  models have been sold out while customers are still placing their orders for further bespoke and one-off versions of the Phantom limousine before the production line closes on December 31.  Rolls Royce says that the remaining capacity is enough to satisfy demand “well into 2017” with highly-individual cars.  “The huge level of demand for Phantom VII, which we will fulfill well into 2017, clearly demonstrates that the Rolls-Royce customer and patron of true luxury will accept no compromise when considering the purchase of ...

The time for retirement has come  for the current generation of RR’s Phantom  with the company launching the last 50 Coupe and Drophead models in a special Zenith Collection form.  These already sold-out models will be tailored to  their customer’s tastes  and will come with unique features, including a new glass shelf housed in the tailgate, a large champagne fridge and a bespoke version of the company’s picnic hamper.  The armrests are now laser engraved with the locations where each model’s concept debuted, with Villa D’Este decorating the Drophead versions and Lake Geneva the Coupe ones.  A drawer on the dashboard now houses a numbered plaque in a polished aluminum case, showing the limited character of these models. Rolls-Royce will discontinue the current generation Phantom in 2016 after 13 years. Rolls will also axe the  Phantom Coupe  and  Drophead Coupe  in November, and the company won't build new versions of them on its future platform. However, the automaker will send off the pair in style with special edition models. The Phantom sedan will eventually return on Rolls' future aluminum platform, which will underpin  all of the company's models . Spy shots suggest  minor design tweaks  for the new generation Phantom, but there's no mistaking the massive vehicle's chiseled shape. The overall size should remain similar to the current one, but the lightweight metal and carbon fiber should dramatically reduce the weight.
