The 2022 Cayenne Turbo GT Is The Fastest And Quickest Porsche SUV Ever Made

Image
Porsche has taken the wraps off their latest addition to the Cayenne Coupe line-up, introducing the new 2022 Cayenne Turbo GT.  The Turbo GT seems to have dropped the “Coupe” from its official moniker, but rest assured it’s a trim level exclusive to the Cayenne Coupe. It’s also the ranger topper for the model, slotting in above both the Turbo and the S E-Hybrid. The unveiling comes just a week ahead of the Cayenne Turbo GT’s first public outing, which will take place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from the 8th–11th of July. The new car promises to be the fastest-ever production Cayenne and one of the fastest SUVs on offer. The Cayenne Turbo GT retains the four-liter twin-turbo V8 that powers the Turbo Coupe, but does so with a power boost of 90 PS (67 kW/90 HP), giving it a total of 640 PS (471 kW/631 hp). Torque is up by 80 Nm to 850 Nm (626 lb.-ft) too. The bump in power isn’t down to a simple remap, as some may assume. Instead, Porsche has created their most potent eight-cyli...

2022 Infiniti QX60 Unveiled With Upscale Looks, Modern Tech, And Semi-Autonomous Tech

Image
Ininfiti‘s QX60 midsize three-row crossover was getting long in the tooth, going nearly a decade without many significant updates. Back in September, we got a taste of what the refreshed crossover would look like with the QX60 Monograph concept. Now the production version is finally here, and it has a lot to offer. The 2022 QX60’s design has been changed to be more in line with Infiniti’s current offerings, and features styling nearly identical to the aforementioned QX60 Monograph. Infiniti calls it a combination of “powerful athleticism with harmony and simplicity”, and with its thin lighting elements, gaping grille, and muscular yet smooth fenders, we’d say that’s a fitting description. The fine details of the design are meant to invoke the spirit of Japan, with things like kimono folds in the “Digital Piano Key” headlights, origami in the grille mesh, and a rippling pond in the quilted leather interior. The Moonbow Blue paint is said to be reminiscent of a summer sky at dusk and fea...

2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Loses Weight, Gains Twin-Turbo V6 And New GR Sport Variant

Image
Toyota has unveiled the new 300 series Land Cruiser and says it had two development objectives for the new SUV. The first was to “inherit and evolve” its spirit of “reliability, durability, and off-road performance” while the second was to create a ride experience capable of tackling any type of road. But before you get too hyped about it, let us tell you that there are no current plans to offer the new 2022 Land Cruiser in the U.S., though they will probably get a similar Lexus LX version. Toyota says that it wanted to keep the vehicle’s body-on-frame structure because it “is the foundation that protects the Land Cruiser’s essence.” In order to pursue its mission of making the SUV capable of tackling any road without tiring the driver, though, it has adopted the new GA-F platform for the vehicle, which is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). That has meant a lighter chassis that is also more rigid and a vehicle whose center of gravity has been moved closer to the ground...

2022 Bentley Bentayga S Debuts With Sportier Styling, V8 Power And Plenty Of Alcantara

Image
The Bentley Bentayga lineup is expanding as the company has introduced a new S variant that joins the existing standard V8, plug-in hybrid and W12-powered flagship models. Designed to deliver “heightened agility and presence,” the Bentayga S features a sportier exterior with tinted lighting units, gloss black accents and a larger rear spoiler for increased aerodynamic stability at speed. Elsewhere, there’s a free-flowing sports exhaust system that delivers “enhanced character and volume” for a “more performance-oriented feel.” It’s joined by 22-inch wheels which are available in three different finishes. They’re silver painted as standard, but gloss black and black / bright polished finishes are also available. The sporty styling continues in the cabin as designers added “fluted” seats with embroidered S logos on the backrests. The model also boasts unique trim, illuminated treadplates and a digital instrument cluster sourced from the Bentayga Speed. Of course, the most noticeable chan...

VW ID.4 GTX Is A Performance EV With 295 HP And AWD That Hits 62 MPH In 6.2 Sec

Image
Volkswagen has given the ID.4 electric SUV a 91 hp power boost and resurrected an old badge for its sportiest ID model yet. The 295hp ID.4 GTX sits above the 201 hp ID.4 that’s just arrived in showrooms, and can sprint from zero to 62mph more than 2 seconds faster. This extra punch hasn’t come from simply up-sizing the rear motor. While the standard ID.4 gets by with a single 201 hp motor driving the rear wheels, the GTX gets the same setup, but adds a second motor to the front axle for a total of 295hp (Volkswagen doesn’t specify a torque figure). In addition to dropping the 62mph time from 8.5 seconds to 6.2 seconds, VW has also raised the electronic speed limiter from 99mph to 112mph. Neither of those figures is going to give a Golf R sleepless nights, but they do instantly answer one of our biggest ID.4 gripes: it’s big on sensible, but short on sizzle next to rivals like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y. Entry-level ID.4s in some markets get a 58 kWh battery, but the GTX ...

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Electric SUV Unveiled In Production Form, Arrives Next Year For Under $60k

Image
Cadillac is transitioning to an electric-only brand and that process is underway as the company has unveiled the 2023 Lyriq. Previewed by last year’s thinly-veiled concept, the production model is the “culmination of a century of innovation and the beginning of a great new era.” As you can see, the 2023 Lyriq closely echoes the concept as it features a black crystal grille with an illuminated emblem as well as lights that activate in choreographed sequences. The model also has “slim-line” LED headlights and a lightly revised front bumper. Moving further back, we can see flush-mounted door handles and conventional side mirrors. While the latter is a change from the concept, the production model retains distinctive taillights which wraparound the side of the vehicle and continue up the rear pillar. The model also comes standard with 20-inch wheels, but 22-inchers will be optional. The Lyriq measures 196.7 inches (4996 mm) long, 77.8 inches (1977 mm) wide and 63.9 inches (1623 mm) tall wi...

Maserati Reveals New Levante Hybrid As The Brand’s First Electrified SUV

Image
Maserati has revealed the new Levante Hybrid at the Shanghai Auto Show, taking the next step in the brand’s electrification strategy following the reveal of the Ghibli Hybrid last year. The new electrified variant of the Maserati Levante, which is also the first hybrid SUV with the trident badge, is powered by a four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine fitted with a 48-volt belt-driven starter-generator and paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The mild-hybrid Levante produces 325 HP (330 PS) and 331 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque and is available only with all-wheel-drive. Maserati also claims that the new Levante Hybrid is lighter than the six-cylinder petrol and diesel variants at 4,607 lbs (2,090 kg), and comes with a better weight distribution since the battery is placed in the rear. 0-62 mph (100 km/h) comes in 6 seconds while top speed is set at over 149 mph (240 km/h). The Italian carmaker also promises that the electrified Levante will still sound like a Maserati. The new Maserati ...

2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Debuts With 830 HP And 300+ Miles Of Range

Image
The H2 and H3 were Hummer’s bread and butter, and the company is returning to its roots with the all-new 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV. Unveiled during the NCAA’s Final Four basketball tournament, via a commercial narrated by LeBron James, the GMC Hummer EV SUV is an electric heavyweight that will get people talking. The model follows in the footsteps of the pickup and features a familiar front end with an illuminated grille that is flanked by slender headlights. Below, there’s a beefy skid plate and prominent D-rings. Moving further back, the model has bulging fenders and an upright windscreen. The Infinity Roof carries over from the pickup and features removable Sky Panels that can be stored in the frunk. However, the big news is the fully enclosed rear end which has a full-size spare tire out back. While the model looks good in standard form, owners will be able to extensively customize the SUV as nearly 200 accessories will be available at launch. The model can also be equipped with an Ex...

Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concept Previews Brand’s Styling, Tech And Performance Future

Image
This is the Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concept which the automaker says incorporates driving performance, styling, and advanced technology set to be realized by 2025. Underpinning the concept is a battery-electric vehicle-dedicated platform that uses the company’s DIRECT4 four-wheel driving force control technology, making the most of the instant responsiveness of an electric motor’s force to freely control the concept’s wheels. Lexus adds that this technology controls the distribution of power across the wheels and can operate in front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive configurations. Lexus hasn’t provided all that many details about the car’s key hardware components, other than the fact that it features a steer-by-wire system. The Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concept previews the evolution of the automaker’s design language. With a silhouette that reminds of coupe-crossovers, the front of the concept features an iteration of the brand’s spindle grille which, since this is an all-electric vehicle an...
