Hyundai has dropped the first official photos and information on the all-new i30 Fastback N five-door performance model ahead of its Paris Auto Show debut. As promised, Hyundai N’s third model was unveiled as part of a race from Rome to Paris. There was a catch, though: the race was between two Danish villages called Rome and Paris, not Italy’s and France’s capital cities. Driven by Gabriele Tarquini, the winning i30 Fastback N needed 8 minutes and 18.49 seconds to cover the distance between the two villages. Back to the car, you should know it grafts the same mechanicals of the i30 N hatchback onto the i30 Fastback body style. Sales of Hyundai’s N products “have already exceeded expectations”, according to the manufacturer, and will reach new heights with the launch of the i30 Fastback N. The third product in the car firm’s N performance brand, after the i30 N and Veloster N, will be officially presented to the world at the 2018 Paris Auto Show, on October 2. Essentially a five-door coupe version of the compact hot hatch, the Hyundai i30 Fastback N recently took to the Nurburgring for an exciting run, alongside the i30 N, Veloster N and i30 N TCR racer. The road-going N products “have the same performance gene and share a strong character”, as Thomas Schemera, Executive VP and head of High Performance Vehicle & Motorsport Division, said. “They are equipped with sophisticated technology and design elements. At Hyundai, we always accept new challenges and try different things to deliver groundbreaking experiences for our customers. We aren’t here to simply build cars, we want to create em...

Hyundai is launching the newest member of its i30 range, the Fastback, a car that features a sloping roof line, a high spoiler line and a strong C-pillar design. The new i30 Fastback joins its 5-door hatchback and Tourer siblings, yet has a stronger stance, according to Hyundai, thanks to the sporty and elongated body lines. "The i30 Fastback is the first elegant five-door coupe to enter the compact segment, underlining our commitment to innovation and customer choice," said Hyundai Europe COO, Thomas A. Schmid. In order to make the car seem wider and more clearly defined, Hyundai emphasized the design of the bonnet by reducing the Cascading Grille's height at the front and adding a lower horizontal air intake. At the same time, full LED Daytime Running Lights and headlamps boasting a dark bezel round off the i30 Fastback's front fascia. "The i30 Fastback is a real game-changer. We are the first volume brand to enter the compact segment with a stylish ...
