The Galaxy S20 and S20+ build on the successful formula of the S10 generation with notable improvements to the screen, battery and especially the camera. Note that the camera on the S20 Ultra is a whole different beast and that phone is covered in another article. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ has Dynamic AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, a first for Samsung, and features increased touch responsiveness (240Hz touch sensing). The 6.7” panel has 1440p+ resolution with a taller aspect ratio than before, 20:9. What this means is that the phone is the same width as the S10+, but slightly taller. The main camera on the back has a new 12MP sensor with large 1.8µm pixels (compared to 1.4µm for the S10 phones). It has an f/1.8 aperture and features optical image stabilization (OIS). The facelifted Hyundai Elantra / Avante has been spied undisguised, ahead of its unveiling in South Korea next month. Looking far more radical than its predecessor, the updated model has been equipped with an all-new front fascia which eschews the gentle curves of the current model. The subtle styling cues are replaced by hard, angular lines and triangular shapes. The triangular styling can also been seen in the car’s new headlights which now extend into the grille. The latter has also been redesigned as it features a revised shape as well as slender horizontal bars. The sides remain largely the same, but the Elantra has been equipped with new taillights that have a more dynamic appearance. The Busan Motor Show opened in South Korea’s second-largest city. And the country’s largest automaker was on hand not only with its existing range of vehicles, but with a brand-new concept that previews the company’s new design language. Called the HDC-2 Grandmaster, the SUV concept follows the HDC-1 sedan concept – dubbed “Le Fil Rouge” – that Hyundai revealed at the Geneva Motor Show just a few months ago. And like Le Fil Rouge, the Grandmaster adopts the brand’s new “Hyundai Look” styling direction. Unfortunately Hyundai has only released two photos of the show truck, and revealed precious little in the way of details. But from what we can see, the concept looks rather imposing, with a large form capped by a big grille. Following a preview earlier this month, Hyundai has unveiled the 2019 Santa Fe in South Korea. The introduction of the new model brings a few changes to the nomenclature as the five-passenger Santa Fe Sport will now be called Santa Fe. The current long wheelbase three-row, seven-passenger model called Santa Fe will be renamed Santa Fe XL for the 2019 model year.  Hyundai also confirmed that an all-new three-row, eight-passenger SUV is currently under development with an all-new name. Looking significantly more upscale than its predecessor, the redesigned model has a bold design which mimics the Kona. The front of the crossover is dominated by a large “cascading” grille which is flanked by LED lights units. Moving further back, there’s gently flowing surfaces, metallic accents and plastic body cladding. Hyundai has revealed the NEXO will have the longest range of any fuel cell vehicle on the market. Set to be launched in South Korea next month, the NEXO has a certified range of 609 km (378 miles) which bests rivals such as the Honda Clarity and Toyota Mirai. Hyundai notes the range is comparable to vehicles powered by internal combustion engines and says this “allows drivers to travel long distances without nervousness about range.” While range isn’t as important in fuel cell vehicles, it’s nice to be able to travel long distances as the hydrogen refueling infrastructure is still in an its infancy in many places. In the United States, the Department of Energy estimated there would be around 50 retail refueling stations by the end of 2017. A majority of them are located in California and that’s why a number of automakers restrict fuel cell vehicles to the state. Hyundai’s South Korean arm has released the first official images and details of the new generation Santa Fe. Coming with a styling inspired by some of the brand’s latest vehicles, including the Kona and Nexo, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe features a bold front end with a large grille flanked by the slim headlights. The interior of the SUV looks entirely new as well compared to the current generation. This is where it gets an entirely new dashboard with a redesigned center console and a floating-style infotainment system. Part of the instrument cluster appears to be digital, although we cannot tell for sure, but looking at some of the equipment reveals the dual-tone leather trim, multi-function steering wheel, rear air vents, electric mirrors, and dual-zone climate control. Following a preview earlier this month, Kia has officially unveiled the updated Ray in South Korea. Looking instantly recognizable, the facelifted model has a new front fascia with a revised grille, circular fog lights, and restyled headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. The Ray has also been equipped with a modified rear bumper, updated taillights, and new 15-inch alloy wheels. A variety of customization options will be available including contrasting colors for the roof, grille, mirror caps, and tailgate appliqué. The interior largely carries over but drivers will find a new three-spoke steering wheel, a revised gear knob, and additional metallic accents. The Ray also offers a seven-inch infotainment system as well as an assortment of options such as mood lighting and color contrasting floor mats. Kia has released a pair of teaser images showcasing the next-generation Ray city car, set to premiere before the end of 2017. These images were shared on Facebook by Hyundai and reveal a comprehensive makeover that’s sure to freshen-up the rather bland five-door, currently sold in South Korea. Up front, the new Ray will adopt a split front grille design as well as circular fog lights on either side of the front bumper. Also visible are projector headlights and LED daytime running lights. Elsewhere, we can see a set of intriguing black and silver wheels, a floating roof design and refined taillights. Unbeknownst to many, the current Kia Ray was actually the firm’s first production battery electric vehicle and is sold with a 67 hp electric motor and 16.4 kWh battery providing roughly 86 miles (138 km) of charge. Kia has just updated the Sorento SUV for the 2018 model year in its home country and while the changes are small, they’re fairly noticeable. At the front, the 2018 Kia Sorento adopts a slightly revised chrome grille and a pair of more refined LED headlights with incorporated daytime running lights. When paired with new quad fog lights on either side of the bumper, gloss black air intake surrounds and the brown of this launch car, the Sorento looks much classier than the current model. At the rear, new taillights with a more complex design have been fitted alongside a re-modelled roof spoiler and twin tailpipes. Different wheels help to complete the modifications. In South Korea, the 2018 Sorento will be offered with a 2.2-liter diesel and a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, both paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. After sharing a  few candid drawings  of the redesigned for 2017 Azera or Grandeur in Korea earlier this week, Hyundai dropped the first real-life images of their bolder and more youthful take on the mid-size sedan segment. The Koreans say the new generation Azera “spearheads a new era” of design for the brand, and while that may hold true for Hyundai, we can’t help but notice the styling similarities with the products of its  just-launched Genesis luxury marque  that was spun off last year.  So much so in fact, that some have hypothesized that instead of replacing the current model, Hyundai could  turn the Azera  into the ‘Lexus ES’ of their Genesis brand in the States, which kind of makes sense given the decline in the non-luxury mid-size sedan category.
