After having already expanded the GT’s production run, Ford has now pulled the covers off a special edition version, dubbed Carbon Series. This is a track-focused model, said to be 18 kg (40 lbs) lighter than the regular street-legal versions. The decrease in weight has been made possible by applying a polycarbonate rear hatch with extra venting, but also carbon fiber wheels with titanium nuts and a titanium exhaust system. Despite the weight loss, this car still retains important comfort features such as air conditioning and an infotainment system. Also, according to Ford, the 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series “will want to be driven home after time sheets are collected” from the track, unlike its sibling racer. Volvo's performance brand, Polestar, has dropped the veil off the 2018MY S60 and V60, which get a new exterior package. Jointly developed by the engineers of Polestar and Cyan Racing, the brand's motorsport partner, they feature data and learnings derived from the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). All cars get a new front splitter, side sills, and rear spoiler extension, made from carbon fiber, which increase downforce by 30 percent, grip, and high-speed stability. Other changes include carbon fiber side mirror casings, high-gloss black Polestar diamond cut wheels, and a new exterior color called Bursting Blue Metallic. The interior of the 2018 Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar remains pretty much identical to the one of their predecessors, except for a few tweaks such as the new seat upholstery, blue contrast stitching, and Polestar embroidering. Bugatti has brought out a beautiful example of their Chiron at the Quail event in California.  Finished in a deep blue which lets the carbon weaves visible over a red interior, this Bugatti Chiron is one of the  most impressive  we’ve come across yet.  Powered by a quad-turbo 8.0-litre W16 engine that makes 1,479hp (1,500PS) and 1180lb ft (1600Nm) of torque, the Bugatti’s new rocketship can accelerate from zero to 62mph (0-100km/h) in less than 2.5 seconds and all the way  up to an electronically limited top speed of 261mph  (420km/h). Bugatti says that so far more than 200 customers have placed their orders, with around 30 per cent of them coming from the United States. Say what you will about the inflated price tag, the 675LT was a huge hit for McLaren. It  sold out all 500 coupes  in two months, and  all 500 subsequent Spiders  in just two weeks. Little surprise, then, that it's producing one last run. Only this one's even more exclusive. Dubbed the MSO Carbon Series LT, it's based on the  675LT Spider . But like the  recently showcased carbon-bodied P1 , the new roadster is cloaked almost entirely in high-gloss carbon fiber. It retains all the carbon components already seen on the 675, and adds another 40 percent of the shiny woven stuff to the vehicle's surface. Otherwise it's essentially the same as the existing model underneath, which hardly needed any improvement. Woking's signature 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 churns out a suitably devilish 666 horsepower in the LT, propelling the two-seater to 62 in 2.9 seconds and on past the 200-mph mark.
