McLaren has taken the wraps off its most powerful, most aerodynamic convertible to date, the 765LT Spider. The highly limited “long tail” model will be made to order and will deliver enormous driver engagement, always according to the manufacturer. Power comes from McLaren’s familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, with the new 765LT Spider making 754 hp (765 PS/562 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque (though that might be a conservative estimate). That’s enough to get it off the line and up to 60 mph (96.5 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 2.8). Thanks to the engine and a transmission that’s optimized for driver engagement, the 765LT Spider offers 15% faster in-gear acceleration than the 720S Spider, meaning it can hit 124 mph (200 km/h) in just 7.2 seconds. Tasked with the challenge of creating a production hybrid supercar that can bring the brand into an increasingly electrified future, McLaren’s engineers have been working overtime. And what they’ve come up with looks like it could balance the needs of the future with the expectations established by the brand’s other supercars. The result is the Artura, a 671 hp, mid-engined plug-in hybrid supercar that weighs about 3,300 lbs (1,496 kg) and can hit 60 mph in just three seconds. But to enumerate those figures so quickly doesn’t do this car justice – they need to be put in the correct context. That curb weight that would make a Lamborghini Aventador suck its gut in is achieved despite the Artura also lugging around a battery pack and an electric motor. McLaren Beverly Hills has pulled the wraps off the limited edition Sabre. Created by McLaren Special Operations, the Sabre has been designed exclusively for the United States and this allowed the model to use “ideas and innovations that global homologation would not permit.” The company didn’t go into many specifics, but the car features a protruding nose and a prominent front splitter. There’s also a ventilated hood, slender headlights and unique ‘over fenders.’ Moving further back, we can see aerodynamic side skirts, a rakish windscreen and butterfly doors.  However, the Sabre is more notable for its distinctive rear cover and central fin which flows into a massive wing. Rounding out the highlights are an enormous diffuser and a center-mounted exhaust.  Designers also installed lightweight wheels which are backed up by a high-performance braking system. The Geneva Motor Show might be cancelled, but that hasn’t stopped McLaren from unveiling the all-new 765LT. Set to become the latest Longtail model, the 765LT is a lighter and more powerful take on the already impressive 720S. In typical fashion, the car has been given a carbon fiber intensive aerodynamics package. It includes an extended front splitter, modified bumpers and revised skirt skirts. The model also has unique door blades, a larger diffuser and an active  Longtail rear wing. The latter is the car’s most distinctive feature and it aids powertrain cooling by drawing hot air out of the engine bay. It also features an airbrake function and a variety of settings which either optimize downforce or reduce drag. McLaren continues to expand its Sports Series lineup with a new competition-inspired model called the 620R. Essentially a road-legal version of the 570S GT4 race car, the 620R is a limited-run coupé that will be built in just 350 units. As the name suggests, the 620R is the most powerful model in the Sports Series range. The M838TE 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine is shared with the GT4 car, but delivers more power as it’s not required to comply with racing regulations. Thus, it churns out 620 PS (612 HP) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque, enabling it to rocket from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 322 km/h (200 mph). This is the new McLaren Elva, the brand’s Ultimate Series roadster and the first open-cockpit road car that came out of Woking, as well as the lightest. Power comes from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that here produces 804 HP (815 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque and is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.McLaren claims that the new Elva is capable of a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds, while 0-124 mph (200 km/h) takes just 6.7 seconds, making it faster than the Senna. McLaren created the Elva to celebrate the classic M1A, M1B and M1C sports cars of the 1960s, which were ‘customer’ versions of the brand’s Group 7 race cars. This year’s Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance will host an all-new Ultimate Series McLaren model, a yet-unnamed two-seat, open cockpit roadster. The British automaker says that the new model will debut in late 2020 and that production will be limited to just 399 cars. Meanwhile, its price tag should see it positioned somewhere between the McLaren Senna ($958,966) and the Speedtail (£2.1 million GBP). McLaren has just unveiled the all-new GT, the fourth new model introduced under its Track25 business plan. Orders can be placed effective immediately, with deliveries set to commence towards the end of 2019. Pricing in the U.S. starts from $210,000, while UK buyers are expected to pay upwards of £163,000, including taxes.
