Ssangyong has released the first details of the all-new, Euro-spec 2020 Korando, ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The fourth-generation Korando was previewed by Ssangyong’s SIV-2 design concept that was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, as well as the larger Rexton. One of the biggest improvements of the new Korando over its predecessor is, according to the Korean automaker, the new interior. The cabin is now made out of better quality materials and comes with high-tech features such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment system. In addition, Ssangyong claims that the all-new Korando offers better head-room and rear seat space than its main competitors in Europe’s compact SUV segment, which includes models like the Nissan Qashqai, the Skoda Karoq and more. With SsangYong specializing in building crossovers, it was only a matter of time before they showed us their latest idea of what a futuristic people hauler should look like, outside and in. This concept‘s name is the e-SIV, which stands for Electronic Smart Interface Vehicle, and by the looks of it, it seems to tick all necessary boxes with regards to powertrain technology, connectivity and active safety systems. SsangYong has released several official sketches of an entirely new study called e-SIV, which stands for Electronic Smart Interface Vehicle. After the KEV1, KEV2, e-XIV and Tivoli EV-R, it’s the company’s fifth electric car concept, and will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show on March 6. The compact SUV is, according to the automaker, “central in helping shape the next-generation SsangYong SUVs and EVs” and “illustrates its approach towards future electric vehicles, connectivity, and autonomous driving”. Moreover, it provides a glimpse into a new design language as well, which appears to be defined by the bold grille, slim headlights and taillights, sporty profile and muscular wheel arches. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if some of these features are toned down for production. Following its online presentation a couple of days ago, SsangYong has revealed in full the new generation Rexton at the 2017 Seoul Motor Show. Developed under the Y400 project name and inspired by the LIV-2 Concept that debuted in Paris last year, Ssangyong's new model retains the Rexton moniker in global markets, but it will be known as the G4 Rexton in Korea. It has a modern design, with a grille that "resembles the spread wings of a bird in flight", large headlights, muscular lines all around, keeping it at the same time in line with its smaller sibling, the Tivoli. SsangYong have released the first official images and data regarding the new generation Rexton. Set to debut at the 2017 Seoul Motor Show this week, in South Korea, it comes with a more modern look than its predecessor, while drawing inspiration from the LIV-2 Concept, presented at the Paris Auto Show, last year. The 2018 SsangYong Rexton has a bold front end, with a generously sized grille flanked by the large headlights and detailed fog lamps, muscular lines that run across its body, and what we expect to be a modern-looking rear end, even if the automaker has yet to release any images with it. Invigorated by its first profitable year since 2007, South Korea’s SsangYong is gazing into the future at Geneva with the XAVL concept, which stands for eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long. Funny name aside, the XAVL is a mid-size SUV with three rows of seats that is said to draw inspiration from the second generation classic Korando of the 1990s, though, you’ll have to really try to find common styling traits between the two. A further, more down-to-earth development of the 2015 XAV study, SsangYong’s XAVL will lead to a production model sitting above the Korando but below the Rexton. With exactly two weeks to go until the 2017 Geneva Motor Show welcomes journalists from all over the world, SsangYong has now revealed a new concept car. Named the XAVL (eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long), this Swiss-bound concept builds upon the XAV study that was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015. It's also inspired by the classic Korando of the 1990s, as the South Korean company states, and judging by the teaser images released, it boasts an aggressive design, with angular lines. The overall look is carried inside, where the cabin has a minimalist layout with futuristic lines. An infotainment system is taking center stage, a rotary dial sits on the center console for gearshift usage, and the concept even features a few jet-styled controls. As a large premium SUV, the  LIV-2 concept  (Limitless Interface Vehicle) previews another key strategic SsangYong model set to be introduced sometime next year. The LIV-2 also represents the next iteration from the LIV-1 concept which SsangYong previously showcased during the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. Its design goal is to pursue the emotional interface between the driver, passengers and car while also reproducing the Korean automaker's design philosophy of "Nature-born 3Motion". SsangYong has used the 2016 Geneva Motor Show to showcase the SIV-2 SUV development concept. The South Korean company refers to the model as a midsize premium SUV and says it previews a possible future production model. It is the next iteration of the the SIV-1 showcased at Geneva two years ago. The  SIV-2  takes the shape of a large SUV with aggressive front end, dominated by large air intakes in the bumper and a set of stylish headlights. Moving back further, we find sharp lines with muscular side profile and massive wheel arches, and a wide C pillar. The cabin features room for four passengers sitting in four individual seats, mounted on the completely flat floor. The dashboard has minimal amount of buttons and most of the controls are performed through a large display and a round button on the center console.
