Lexus is embarking on a major product push, which will see the brand launch 20 new or updated vehicles by 2025. That offensive is kicking into high gear with the unveiling of the 2022 NX. Redesigned from the ground up, the 2022 Lexus NX looks like a crossover-ified version of the IS sport sedan. It features an all-new front fascia with a revised spindle grille that has “tall U-shaped blocks” for a more three-dimensional appearance. The grille is flanked by vertical air intakes and redesigned headlights with integrated daytime running lights. This is a notable change as it means the NX no longer resembles a rolling Nike advertisement. Continuing down the sides, we can see evolutionary bodywork and a distinctive shoulder line. The rear end is also familiar, but it adopts full-width taillights and “Lexus” lettering that replaces the circular “L” emblem. Late last month, Cadillac surprised the world as they took the wraps off the latest addition to their lineup, a compact CUV called the XT4. It's more of the same, yet something completely new from the American luxury carmaker. More of the same because it's very similar to the larger XT5, and something different because it's the first time Cadillac has made a compact luxury crossover. Think of it as a potential ATS replacement. Since the luxury crossover segment is a rapidly growing one, it's no surprise Cadillac has jumped on the bandwagon with it's second CUV, to sit alongside the larger XT5. Prices for the facelifted 2018 Lexus NX have just been uncovered by Cars Direct and surprisingly, prices for the most premium model have decreased. Those looking to get the keys to a 2018 NX 300h will need to part with at least $39,330, a decent drop from the $40,715 starting price of the 2017 model. What’s more, buyers of the 2018 car will enjoy a host of mechanical and technological improvements over the outgoing model. For example, the range-topping NX 300h includes the brand’s Safety System+ as standard and also benefits from improved suspension components to make the bold SUV more capable than ever before. At the vehicle’s April debut, Lexus said there were retuned springs, stabilizer bars and bushings which allow for enhanced turn-in response and better cornering. The Lexus NX hardly needed a facelift but the Japanese company thought otherwise and has just unveiled a refreshed version at the Shanghai Auto Show. Although the styling tweaks aren't significant, they do promise to give the eye-catching SUV even more road presence. Lexus says that the entire front fascia of the 2018 NX has been refreshed and while it's certainly different, only those with a trained eye would immediately notice the differences. They primarily revolve around a tweaked version of Lexus' spindle front grille and incorporate reshaped headlights and those familiar tick-shaped LED daytime running lights. Additionally, both the NX 300h and NX 300 F Sport announced so far have modified front air intakes and fog lights. Lexus has announced that the facelifted NX crossover will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. The current NX premiered almost exactly three years ago at the Beijing Auto Show and represented the company's entry into the luxury compact crossover segment. To our eyes, its styling is still ultra-modern but evidently, Lexus thinks it is in need of a slight refresh. As it stands, only a single teaser image of the updated NX has been released and it doesn't reveal much. All it shows is the bodywork of the tweaked model being affixed to the current car with the same tick-shaped daytime running lights and spindle front grille visible on the new body. Lexus officially says that the facelifted NX will receive an “updated exterior design” but clearly, it won't be anything major and we don't expect to see much more than slightly reshaped bumpers and perhaps the availability of new wheel designs.
