Chinese-backed Karma Automotive has revealed the new Revero GT, a heavily revised version of the hybrid saloon that was originally known as the Fisker Karma, as well as the new Pininfarina GT coupe and the SC1 Vision Concept. The new Karma Revero GT features a redesigned bodywork and a new “world-class” hybrid electric powetrain that uses a BMW-sourced TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder petrol engine as a range-extender. The combined output is claimed to be 528hp (535PS) while the battery pack comes with a capacity of 28kWh. Karma says that the new Revero GT offers 80 miles (128km) of pure electric range and a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 4.5 seconds. Karma Automotive will launch the new Revero GT in Europe and the Middle East by next year, with China to follow in 2021, according to the company’s CEO Dr. Lance Zhou. 2020 Karma Revero Teased, Will Be Faster Than Its Predecessor

Image
Karma Automotive has released the first teaser image of the 2020 Revero, ahead of its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show next month. The teaser isn’t very revealing, but it shows the Revero will have an evolutionary design with restyled headlights. That isn’t much to go on, but Karma said we can expect an “even more stunning” design than its predecessor. While Karma describes the 2020 Revero as “all-new,” previous spy photos have suggested this isn’t necessarily the case. Instead, it appears the car will be getting a minor facelift that focuses on updating the front and rear fascias. This is long overdue as the original Fisker Karma debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show and its design hasn’t changed much in the past 11 years. The updated Revero will go on sale in the second half of 2019 and the company says the car will be smarter and faster than its predecessor. This statement suggests the model could be getting an upgraded powertrain, but there’s no word on...

Karma To Introduce Updated Revero And New Vision Concept In China

Image
Karma Automotive rose from the ashes of Fisker Automotive and it’s been selling an updated version of the original Karma – now called Revero – ever since. The Karma originally went into production in 2011 and that’s eternity in the world of electrified vehicles. Thankfully, big changes are coming as Karma Automotive will use the Shanghai Auto Show to introduce at least two new vehicles. The company is keeping details under wraps, but they will unveil a new Revero and an electric Vision concept in China. The automaker will also present the “first results of a partnership with Pininfarina.” Karma was coy on specifics, but said the “next-generation” Revero will go on sale in the second half of the year.  That isn’t much to go on, but previous spy photos have shown the Revero will be getting a facelift that includes new bumpers and restyled lighting units. The automaker also released a teaser image of the Vision concept which features full width taillights and a compact gree...

Karma Revero Launches With Familiar Styling And Some Key Changes

Image
The Karma Revero has been officially unveiled in the U.S., bringing to an end the will-it-won't-it-relaunch drama which has been ongoing since the original Fisker Karma died in 2013. Beyond a new name, the  updated model  has been brought to life courtesy of Chinese company Wanxiang. While the design of the car remains essentially identical to the Karma which came before it, the Revero does utilize a handful of new technologies in the firm's hopes to make it a convincing prospect to environmentally-conscious consumers. Beneath the skin is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 260 hp and sourced from General Motors, just like the original Fisker Karma. However, the Revero now includes an on-board charger that is 6.6 kW in capacity, double to that of the old car. Additionally, capacity of the battery has risen from 20.4 kWh to 21.4 kWh, enough to provide the hybrid with an electric-only rage of about 50 miles. The  Revero  also now uses a more  advance...

Karma Revero Breaks Cover With A Solar Roof Big Enough To Power It (w/Video)

Image
The reborn Karma Automotive will go after the  big boys in the segment  with its first model: the Revero. Based on the  old Fisker Karma  and carrying a few visual updates that will probably go by unnoticed unless you're a true fanatic of the company started by  Henrik Fisker , it still carries a solar roof, which " will create enough energy to power the car ", as the brand explains.  Now that's a major statement right there, one that we will need to come back to in the future when more data will become available, but for now,  Karma explains  that " no other vehicle sold in the US has ever offered this capability. Our owners consider our solar roof an important element in our brand identity, and we listened. " Karma Automotive  is not quite ready to reveal all of the secrets of the car and is trying to keep us busy by stating that  "the badges on each Revero are hand-painted, one at a time. No other car company has ever done this. Co...
