Hyundai Details Electrified Ioniq Range Prior To Geneva Debut

The new Ioniq is the world's first model to be offered with three electrified powertrains, making low-to zero-emission mobility accessible to everyone.

As an important milestone for the company's sustainability energy, the vehicle benefits from a new Kappa 1.6-liter GDI direct injected petrol four-cylinder in the Hybrid and Plug-In versions, which delivers 105PS (104hp) and 147Nm (108lb-ft) of torque paired to a six-speed double clutch transmission.

In the Ioniq Hybrid, the electric motor generates 44PS (43hp) and 170Nm (125lb-ft) of torque and takes juice from a lithium-ion-polymer battery with a 1.56kWh capacity, positioned under the rear seats. Total system output is 141PS (139hp) and 265Nm (195lb-ft) of torque, providing a top speed of 185km/h (115mph) and targeted CO2 emissions of 79g/km.

The Ioniq Plug-In has a electric driving range of over 50km (31miles), thanks to its 8.9kWh lithium-ion-polymer battery and 61PS (60hp) electric motor, which works in tandem with the same 1.6-liter GDI Kappa mill. CO2 emissions in this variant are as low as 32g/km.

The Ioniq Electric benefits from a 28kWh lithium-ion-polymer battery and electric motor with 120PS (118hp) and 295Nm (218lb-ft) of torque. It has a single-speed reducer transmission and can accelerate up to 165km/h (103mph). The total range is estimated at over 250 km (155 miles).

Elements on the exterior such as the blue accents on the Ioniq Hybrid and Ioniq Plug-In differentiate the two from the Ioniq Electric, which has exclusive copper colored accents.

Features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Tom Tom live services, wireless charging for smartphone devices, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster and an innovative safety package that includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Smart Cruise Control are available across the range.
