TVR's New Sports Car Will Rocket From 0-60 MPH In Less Than Four Seconds

TVR has released a new teaser image of its upcoming sports car ahead of its debut at the Goodwood Revival on September 8th.

Posted by Top Gear, the image suggests the model will eschew the extreme styling of recent vehicles such as the Tuscan and Sagaris. Despite this, the car clearly has some TVR DNA and picture shows a bulging hood, a large air intake, and what appears to be a double bubble roof.

The company isn't ready to reveal detailed specifications yet but owner Les Edgar told the publication its 5.0-liter V8 engine will enable the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds before hitting a top speed of 200 mph (321 km/h). This impressive performance is due in part to the car's carbon fiber chassis which enables the model to tip the scales at less than 1,250 kg (2,755 lbs).

Edgar went on to say the car will be positioned closer to a grand tourer than an all-out sports car so it will be comfortable and timeless. The executive also confirmed the car isn't packed with the latest technology but it will have digital instruments and a touchscreen infotainment system.
