2021 Chrysler Pacifica Debuts With Fresh Looks, AWD, New U-Connect

Chrysler has revealed the 2021 Pacifica at the Chicago Auto Show, featuring new options and technologies, as well as an updated styling.

The facelifted Chrysler Pacifica debuts with a revised front fascia that features a 3D diamond-style front grille, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, new wheel designs and an updated S Appearance package.

For the 2021 model year, the new Chrysler Pacifica gains a new all-wheel drive system option, capable of transferring all available torque to the rear wheels, or whichever wheels offer the more traction, a unique feature in its class.

Models equipped with Chrysler’s AWD system are also getting a rear sway bar, revised suspension tuning and an increased by 20mm ride height. Customers will be able to choose the AWD option in all trim levels: Touring, Touring L, Limited and the new range-topping Pinnacle.

The new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle was designed to offer a premium luxury experience, with features such as quilted Caramel Nappa leather seats and matching lumbar pillows for the second-row captain’s chairs, a new integrated Ultra center console with 13.65 liters of capacity, piano black and satin chrome details, as well as a black suede headliner.

The new range-topping Pinnacle model of the Pacifica family comes with a Satin Carbon front grille and Platinum Chrome bodywork detailing, among other.

The 2021 Pacifica is also the first North American FCA model to feature the all-new Uconnect 5 infotainment system. The new system runs through a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen display and is five times faster than the previous generation system. It also adds more connected services, built-in Amazon Alexa, wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay and the ability to personalize its home screen for up to six different user profiles.

There’s also the new ‘FamCAM’ interior camera that, according to Chrysler, offers a best-in-class high-definition image and unique features such as a view of rear-facing child seat occupants, split-view and a “zoom-to-seat” option.

Other updates in the vast cabin of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica include the addition of USB Type C ports, raising the total number to a combined 12 USB Type A and Type C ports, a new 10-inch subwoofer, new wireless charging with LED indicator. The interior is also quieter now, thanks to the upgraded glasshouse that includes a standard acoustic windshield and thicker sliding glass across the range. Limited, Pinnacle and PHEV models feature in addition front side acoustic glass.

The ride quality has been improved thanks to not only the changes in the glasshouse, but also to the upgraded bow stiffness in the chassis and the improved body sealing, with Chrysler claiming a 6 to 8 percent increase in speech intelligibility.

The active safety range has been further enhanced, with the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica now offering the most standard safety features in the market. Systems like Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking, LED headlights with Automatic High Beams, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus with Lane Keep Assist are part of the standard equipment on all models.

Engine options include the Pentastar V6 unit, which produces 287 HP and 262 lb-ft of torque and the plug-in hybrid powertrain that offers an all-electric range of more than 30 miles and an overall range of over 500 miles.

Sales of the new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica will launch in the third quarter of 2020, with first deliveries scheduled for the last quarter of the year.
