BMW Updates 2002 Hommage With Racing Livery For Pebble Beach

Continuining its 100th anniversary celebrations and remembering its very first turbocharged model, BMW has unveiled a refreshed version of its 2002 Hommage concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

First presented at Villa d'Este back in May, the 2002 Hommage pays tribute to the original BMW 2002 turbo from 1973 and follows on from the 3.0 CSL Hommage Concept. While the concept from Villa d'Este and displayed at Goodwood was painted in a shade of baby blue, the Pebble Beach example is more extraverted.

As such, it is painted in a brand new shade of burnt orange and rolls on a set of eye-catching 20-inch alloy wheels combining gold and silver spokes. The upper half of the concept is painted black, giving the concept a true race car feel, further reinforced by the Turbomeister decals and the gold brake calipers.

Beyond the paint finish and refreshed set of shoes, the Pebble Beach car is identical to the blue example. That means that the front end is characterized by a pointed 'shark nose', a gloss black kidney grille and headlight clusters with bright gold accents, designed to mimic the yellowish-tinge of race cars of yesteryear.

There are also a host of carbon fiber elements across the concept, including a single unbroken line of carbon wrapping around the entire vehicle.
