Scaldarsi Motors' Maybach-Based $1.5 Million Emperor I Is A Sight To Behold
While chances are, the uber-ostentatious Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 won’t make it into production, if you really want to intimidate the common-folk in a galore of luxury and opulence, there’s another Maybach with your name on it.
Like many other coachbuilds, this project seems purposefully created to be a rolling exhibit of one’s bank account, and it was created by a new, growing international firm focused on bringing “bespoke masterpieces to life” (or so they claim).
The Mercedes-Benz Rocket 900 Maybach-based Emperor I is the only product the company offers, but Canadian based, Scaldarsi Motors, plans to expand its automotive lineup in the near future, and build bespoke yachts and private jets as well.
They’re off with a bang, as even the Rolls Royce Phantom Zenith looks restrained compared to the Emperor (ant that's probably an understatement), with Scaldarsi describing the machine as an "opulent beauty", and the meticulous combination of the world’s finest engineers, designers, and craftsmen.
Under the hood lies the same twin-turbocharged, 6.2-litre V12 you’ll see in any S600, although it was modified by Brabus to deliver 888 hp. Enough to take the enormous limousine from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds.
The exterior design greatly differs from that of the standard Mercedes-Maybach, adopting a widened body kit, new front and rear ends, and intricate wheels. The ginormous grille governs over the entire front of the car, while some body elements are actually made of 24-karat gold (didn’t see that coming, did you?).
The cabin offers endless customization options, as there are 24 exotic animal leather offerings, 24 leather upholstery colors, and 78 type of wood veneers.
Only 10 units will be built (for now), each with a starting price of $1.5 million. The Emperor will be soon followed by the Emperor II (a Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupe), III (Bentley Bentayga), IV (Mercedes-AMG G65) and V (BugattiChiron).
