2019 Volvo S60 ‘Polestar Engineered’ Shows Its Face Ahead Of June 20 Unveiling


Volvo is getting ready to unveil the third member of its re-engineered ’60’ family, as a new S60 saloon will soon join the XC60 SUV and V60 Estate.

Poised to take on rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, Jaguar XE and BMW 3-Series, the premium compact four-door model isn’t shying away from showing its face on video.

Looking essentially like a shrunken S90, it gets the Thor’s hammer LED headlights, signature grille with the Polestar badging, mean-styled front bumper with what appears to be a carbon fiber-made apron and large air intakes.


This is the top-of-the-line model of the series, which will be known officially as ‘Polestar Engineered‘. It benefits from a few styling upgrades over the regular versions, such as a special suspension setup with adjustable shock absorbers and strut bar, whose design is shared with the Polestar 1.

With a combined output of 409hp (415PS / 305kW) and 494lb-ft (670Nm) of torque (in US-spec), courtesy of an internal combustion unit dubbed T8 Twin Engine, and an electric motor, the Volvo S60 comes very close in terms of power to AMG and M models from Mercedes and BMW.

The C63 has 469hp (476PS / 350kW) and 479lb-ft (605Nm) of torque in the standard version, and 503hp (510PS / 375kW) and 516lb-ft (700Nm) of torque in the ‘S’ flavor. At the same time, the M3’s engine churns out 425hp (431PS / 317kW) and 406lb-ft (550Nm) of torque.

Volvo will officially present the all-new S60 on June 20, but expect more teasers in the meantime.

Droptop crossovers have always been rather odd and the T-Roc Cabriolet is no different. Alpine A110 Hits Geneva With Pure, Legende And GT4 Versions

Renault’s reborn Alpine brand has been getting rave reviews for its new A110 and now, as promised, it’s revealed new versions of its coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. Following the success of the sold-out Premiere Edition, the A110 will now be offered in Pure and Legende trims. The A110 Pure is targeted at driving enthusiasts. It features one-piece Sabelt sports seats that weigh barely more than 13 kilograms (28.6 pounds) each and, combined with other weight-saving measures, helps keep the curb weight below 1,100 kg ( 2,425 lbs).
