Subaru BRZ tS Confirmed For America, Debuts Tomorrow
Following a cryptic teaser image, Subaru of America has confirmed plans to introduce the BRZ tS tomorrow.
The latest teaser image doesn't reveal much but it shows the car will be equipped with lightweight STI-branded wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport rubber. We can also see a Brembo braking system with red calipers and what appears to be a ground effects package.
Unsurprisingly, the car seems to have a lot in common with the BRZ tS which was introduced in Japan a couple of years ago. If that car is any indication of what to expect, the model could come with exterior styling tweaks, a retuned suspension, and a modified interior with plenty of STI badging. However, the chances of a meaningful power upgrade are slim to none.
The BRZ tS will be introduced tomorrow alongside the WRX STI Type RA. That particular car will have a carbon fiber roof and 19-inch BBS wheels with a gold finish. Fans can also look forward to an upgraded interior with Recaro seats and possibly some sportier trim combinations.
Little else is known about the WRX STI Type RA but rumors suggest it could come with a modified suspension that uses Bilstein shock absorbers. There could also be some engine and transmission tweaks but nothing is official as of yet.
