Redmi K30 Pro arrives with Snapdragon 865, K30 Pro Zoom adds telephoto camera
The Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom are here, after weeks of teasers and speculations. They bring a radically different design compared to the K30 and K30 5G with a pop-up selfie camera and quad rear shooters housed in a circular setup. As expected they also come with the flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset, complete with X55 modem for 5G connectivity and larger 4,700 mAh batteries. In fact, the two K30 Pro versions are identical save for one of the cameras on the back.
The 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display comes without any cutouts as it brings back the motorized pop-up solution for the 20MP selfie cam. The panel comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner and a 20:9 aspect ratio but its refresh rate is stuck at 60Hz.
Around the back, the Redmi K30 Pro features a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 13MP ultrawide snapper, a 5MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth helper.
Those who want a telephoto module will have to step up to the K30 Pro Zoom version which swaps the 5MP macro cam for an 8MP tele shooter with OIS capable of 3x optical and up to 30x hybrid zoom. Both K30 Pro variants are able to record 8K video.
The Snapdragon 865 SoC can be paired with either 6GB or 8GB RAM while the speedy UFS3.1 storage, is either 128GB or 256GB.
Both Redmi K30 Pro versions come with 4,700 mAh batteries and 33W fast charging. Other notable additions include improved haptic vibration motor, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, NFC, an IR port and a headphone jack.
The Redmi K30 Pro will be available in grey, purple, white and blue colors. The base version starts at CNY 2,999($425) for the 6/128GB config, there’s also an 8/128GB model for CNY 3,399 ($480) and an 8/256GB trim for CNY 3,699($520).
The K30 Pro Zoom base is CNY 3,799 ($535) while the 8/256GB model will go for CNY 3,999 ($565).
Both variants of the K30 Pro are up for pre-order in China with official sales tipping off on April 4. There are no details on international availability just yet.
