We already know that GM will pull the plug on their Australian production facilities  in 2017 , which in turn leads to the death of the Holden Commodore and its American cousin, the Chevy SS. Right? Wrong. The  most popular vehicle  in Toyota's lineup has received some upgrades for the 2017 MY  three years  after its launch. The 11th generation of the Corolla is offered in approximately  150 countries worldwide  and accounts for 20 percent of Toyota's global sales. The model that's sold in European markets adopts a new design language, highlighted by the new front fascia with different LED headlights flanking the small upper grille and revised bumper incorporating a large lower grille. The door handles now have a new chrome finish, while at the rear there are fresh LED taillights and chrome trim. It's also  available with  16- and 17-inch alloys and a choice of 9 body colors, three of which (Platinum Bronze, Tokyo Red and Earth Bronzeare) are new. Chevrolet pulled a nice one with the official launch of the  Camaro ZL1  Convertible at the  New York Auto Show .  Offering " comparable performance to the coupe model ", as the manufacturer states, it uses the Corvette Z06-sourced 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8 that's rated at 640 HP (649 PS) and 640 pound-feet (868 Nm) of torque. Customers can choose between the six-speed manual or the new 10-speed automatic that made its debut at the the  Coupe  and will be introduced in eight GM models by the end 2018. The ZL1 has been designed with the Convertible in mind from the beginning, so the chassis of the  drop-top muscle car  has " only a few minor structural differences " to that of the Coupe. Mercedes-AMG have launched their new C63 Cabrio and C63 S Cabrio models at this year's  NY Auto Show , with power outputs of 469 HP and 503 HP respectively. Setting both models apart from the standard C-Class Cabriolet are the flared wheel arches, the wide track and the large wheels which add to the convertible model's powerful look, though it's overall performance that impresses the most when it comes to AMG-badged cars. Agility-wise, the C63 Cabrio makes use of the sophisticated AMG Ride Control sport suspension with adaptive damping adjustment, a rear-axle limited-slip differential and  in the case of the C63 S version , dynamic engine mounts. By fall 2016, Mercedes US customers will be able to enjoy the largest selection ever of Mercedes-AMG C-Class vehicles, now available in Sedan, Coupe and Cabriolet forms. Mazda is raising the bar, or rather the top, in the compact sports car segment with the unveiling of the  new MX-5 RF , which stands for ‘Retractable Fastback’, on the eve of  the New York Auto Show .  For the second generation of their retractable hardtop model, Mazda chose  a very different solution, as whereas the previous PRHT (Power Retractable Hard Top) turned into a fully open roadster, the RF gets an intricate targa top mechanism with a removable middle section and a retractable rear window.  It’s very similar to the system  Porsche is using on their latest 911 Targa , as at the touch of a button and in 12 seconds at speeds of up to 6mph or 10km/h, the rear section lifts up and swallows the middle part of the roof, stowing it right behind the rear seats, which is also were the retractable back window slides down. Where  Acura failed miserably with the ZDX , Germany’s premium brands are thriving, with Mercedes being the latest to expand its coupe crossover offerings with the  New York Auto Show-bound  GLC Coupe.
