Bentley Reveals Stretched Mulsanne Grand Limousine By Mulliner
The new Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine was created by the company’s bespoke Mulliner division as a showcase of their skill.
The new, much longer Mulsanne has an extra meter of additional length and is 79mm taller than the normal model, featuring a unique rear cabin with four opposing seats.
The new British limo, which was created after a private commission, is also Bentley’s first car to feature electrochromic glass, allowing rear passengers to switch the interior division and rear-cabin window glass between clear and opaque at the touch of a button.
“The Mulsanne Grand Limousine showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of our in-house coachbuilder, Mulliner and exemplifies the way in which our experts consult with a customer to turn their vision into an extraordinary reality,” said Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors. “The attention to detail, quality, creativity and skill applied to every Mulliner commission is truly unique in the automotive world.”
One of the highlights of the rear cabin is the handcrafted wooden roof panel encasing three dials displaying UK and local time as well as exterior temperature.
A new climate system was developed especially for the new Mulsanne Limousine while the rear passengers will have at their disposal features like iPad charging and docking stations, as well as veneered fold-out tables, a bottle cooler with frosted glass and crystal flutes, and a soft drink cabinet with bespoke tumblers.
Bentley has reengineered the chassis, suspension, powertrain and transmission to match the Grand Limousine’s need to offer the ‘highest possible degree of passenger comfort and safety in the longest ultra-luxury sedan in the world.’
Finished in two-tone Silver Frost and Moroccan Blue, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine is wearing a set of unique 21in wheels, color-matched to the paint job.
The new Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine is exhibited next to the updated Mulsanne family at the Geneva Motor Show.
