2019 Acura ILX Arrives With A Beakless Face

The Acura ILX has been updated for the 2019MY, with the facelift model obtaining the brand’s new corporate face without the steal beaks that was first previewed by the Precision Concept.

Acura says that the compact sedan “is all-new from the A-pillars forward”, featuring the brand’s latest signature styling cues that include the diamond-shaped grille, multi-LED headlights and more heavily sculpted hood.

Some similarities with the show car that premiered more than two years ago can be found at the rear end as well, which gets a new decklid, LED taillights and lower diffuser with aan exposed outlet. New wheel designs are part of the revisions, alongside five additional colors added to the palette.

Inside, the 2019 Acura ILX has updated sport seats, new trim, silver-finished and chrome inserts, machine-finished push-button start, and power adjustable lumbar for the driver’s seat. The refreshed infotainment system is available as an optional extra, with new software and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Every trim level comes as standard with the AcuraWatch suite of driving assistance technologies. The package includes Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

No changes have been performed in the engine compartment, as all 2019 Acura ILX models continue to be powered by the naturally aspirated 201 hp (204 PS / 150 kW) 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, mated to a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The A-Spec edition is still being offered, with its dark chrome trim for the grille and lower fascia, smoked headlights and taillights, fog lamps, gloss-black decklid spoiler, and 18-inch wheels with a new pattern and Shark Gray finish.

Customers can have their ILX A-Spec in Apex Blue Pearl for the 2019MY, a shade previously available on the RDX and MDX.

Interior enhancements include the A-Spec-badged steering wheel with contrast stitching, aluminum sport pedals, graphite-silver dash accent with chrome inserts, and exclusive Ebony or Red leather with black Ultrasuede center panels and contrast stitching.

First deliveries of the 2019 Acura ILX will begin across the country in October.
