LA Auto Show To Have 50+ Debuts Including Three Global Premieres From BMW

The Paris Motor Show is still two weeks away, but that isn’t stopping the Los Angeles Auto Show from stealing some of its thunder.

In an announcement, the Los Angeles show revealed this year’s event will be home to more than 50 global and North American debuts. The show didn’t go into specifics, but confirmed BMW will have a major presence at the event as the company stage the global debut of three production vehicles and a “new concept.” That’s on top of the 8-Series Coupe, X5 and Z4 which will be celebrating their North American auto show debut at the event.

There’s no word on what BMW has up its sleeve, but the debuts could include the 8-Series Convertible and X7 crossover. Other possible candidates include the X3 M and X4 M which were teased earlier this month.

Volkswagen will use the show to introduce an electric concept as well as special editions of the Beetle and Golf GTI. The latter two models are likely the Beetle Final Edition and the Golf GTI Rabbit Edition.

For their part, Toyota will introduce five new vehicles including a hybrid and some undisclosed special editions. Subaru will also introduce multiple vehicles including a plug-in hybrid with Toyota-sourced technology.

Among the other companies planning to introduce vehicles in Los Angeles are Nissan, Porsche and Volvo. Rivian will also use the event to introduce its new electric pickup and SUV.

Speaking of eco-friendly models, LA Auto Show President and CEO Lisa Kaz said “As the nation’s number one green vehicle market, it is fitting that nearly one-third of the debuts slated for this year’s AutoMobility LA are electric or alternative fuel.”

The Los Angeles Auto Show kicks off on November 26th and most companies have unveils scheduled for the 28th and 29th.
