VW T-Roc Gets New R-Line Model


Volkswagen introduced the all-new T-Roc a few weeks ago and the company is already spicing up its entry-level crossover with a couple of R-Line packages.


Designed to appeal to style conscious consumers, the R-Line Exterior Package includes sportier body-color bumpers and R-Line badging on the grille. Buyers will also find a unique rear diffuser, body-colored door trim, and darker taillights.


To spruce up the cabin, the R-Line Interior Package adds a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel and two-tone cloth / microfiber seats with faux leather accents. The package also includes a black roofliner, special floor mats, and stainless steel pedals. Rounding out the changes are R-Line door sill plates and 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels.


Besides introducing the R-Line packages, Volkswagen detailed the T-Roc's engine lineup. On the petrol side, the entry-level offering is a 1.0-liter TSI that develops 115 PS (85 kW) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque. Moving up to the 1.5-liter TSI rewards buyers with 150 PS (110 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. Lastly, there's a 2.0-liter TSI that develops 190 PS (140 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque.


Diesel fans can order an entry-level 1.6-liter TDI with 115 PS (85 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. There will also be a 2.0-liter TDI that has outputs of 150 PS (110 kW) and 340 Nm (240 lb-ft) of torque as well as 190 PS (140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.


Depending on which engine is selected, it can be paired to either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DSG gearbox. The entry-level engines come exclusively with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is optional or standard on higher-end models.

Alpine A110 Hits Geneva With Pure, Legende And GT4 Versions

Renault’s reborn Alpine brand has been getting rave reviews for its new A110 and now, as promised, it’s revealed new versions of its coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. Following the success of the sold-out Premiere Edition, the A110 will now be offered in Pure and Legende trims. The A110 Pure is targeted at driving enthusiasts. It features one-piece Sabelt sports seats that weigh barely more than 13 kilograms (28.6 pounds) each and, combined with other weight-saving measures, helps keep the curb weight below 1,100 kg ( 2,425 lbs). Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet Is A Crossover For Droptop Lovers

Droptop crossovers have always been rather odd and the T-Roc Cabriolet is no different. It will be the only convertible Volkswagen on sale for the foreseeable future and will celebrate its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Rather than simply removing the roof of the standard T-Roc, Volkswagen has drastically altered the vehicle’s structure and body. In fact, its wheelbase is 37 mm longer than the standard T-Roc while its overall length is up by 34 mm. In addition, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet features structural strengthening in the underbody, side panels, cross members, doors, and windscreen frame to make up for the lack of a roof.
