2018 Nissan Maxima Revealed With Minor Updates, Higher Prices

Nissan has taken the wraps off the 2018 Maxima.

Since the car was redesigned for the 2016 model year, the latest updates are relatively minor and include a modestly revised V-motion grille with new black accents. The Maxima's color palette has also been updated and now includes a Carnelian Red option.

Interior changes are minimal but include an updated NissanConnect infotainment system that now comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. SL, SR and Platinum variants also gain two new USB charging ports for rear seat passengers.

Pricing starts at $33,020 for the entry-level Maxima S which is an increase of $410. The Maxima SV climbs $430 to $35,020 while the Maxima SL jumps $350 to $37,440. Likewise, the Maxima SR costs $38,280 and the Maxima Platinum retails for $40,690 - increases of $410 and $650, respectively.

Regardless of which model is selected, all of them are equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine which produces 300 hp (223 kW) and 261 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an Xtronic transmission which enables the sedan to return 21 mpg city / 30 mpg highway.
