Mercedes-AMG Waves Goodbye To The G65 With Final Edition


With a new G-Class in development, Mercedes has decided to start guiding the current models towards the exit, this time with a special "final" edition for the G65 AMG version.

The Mercedes-AMG G65 Final Edition is said to "reflect the successful story of the world's most powerful series production off-roader". It will come out in just 65 examples worldwide, and each one starts at €310,233 in Germany, which equals to $365,213 at today's exchange rates.


At its heart, it carries a 6.0-liter V12 lump, with twin turbochargers and multi-spark ignition, making 630PS (621hp) and 1,000Nm (738lb-ft) of torque. Transferring the output to all four corners is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Naught to 100km/h (62mph) takes just 5.3sec, and top speed is electronically limited to 230km/h (143mph).

Its sporty appearance is highlighted by the matte bronze elements that adorn its body and can be found in the grille surround, underride guard, mirrors, and 21-inch wheels. Additionally, the V12 SUV boasts AMG Sport trim strips on the sides, silver brake calipers, matte black running boards and tailpipes, and high-gloss black exterior protective strips.


A similar theme is continued inside, where designo black nappa leather, topstitching, and carbon fiber elements can be found. Mercedes-AMG's designers have also added floor mats with leather edging, and the milled 'Edition' lettering in the grab handle.

Renault’s reborn Alpine brand has been getting rave reviews for its new A110 and now, as promised, it’s revealed new versions of its coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. Following the success of the sold-out Premiere Edition, the A110 will now be offered in Pure and Legende trims. The A110 Pure is targeted at driving enthusiasts. It features one-piece Sabelt sports seats that weigh barely more than 13 kilograms (28.6 pounds) each and, combined with other weight-saving measures, helps keep the curb weight below 1,100 kg ( 2,425 lbs). Droptop crossovers have always been rather odd and the T-Roc Cabriolet is no different. It will be the only convertible Volkswagen on sale for the foreseeable future and will celebrate its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
