Nissan To Skip 2018 Paris Auto Show As It Has Nothing New To Present

Image
Many automakers are choosing not to participate at important automotive shows across the globe, including Geneva, Paris, Frankfurt and Detroit. One of them is Nissan, which will reportedly skip the 2018 Paris Auto Show, AutoActu reports, after speaking to the company’s President for Western Europe, Bernard Loire. Loire made it clear as to why they have taken this decision: “We have nothing new to present. We must also make choices, we were in Geneva and at shows dedicated to digital and new technologies”, said the Nissan official. It’s not a first as, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ford, Lamborghini, Subaru and Volvo were absent from the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Nissan won’t be the only automaker dropping out from this year’s show in France, as Ford, Mazda and Volvo are reportedly taking a leave of absence. However, the bi-annual event won’t miss out on important premieres, as the new BMW Z4 and X3 M, Peugeot 208, and two potential versions of the new 508 – the rumored range-topping...

2019 Mazda CX-3 Takes Over New York With Electronic Parking Brake

Image
Well, Mazda’s mystery New York Auto Show wasn’t at all significant as we’d hoped. Instead, it is simply a 2019 Mazda CX-3. Updates are minor to say the least. The exterior of the new CX-3 is almost identical to the 2018 model. However, this is no bad thing as the CX-3 remains one of the most appealing and attractive vehicles in its segment. Subtle changes include a new front grille, additional chrome accents, Piano black elements, and the addition of Crystal premium paint. Elsewhere, the 2019 CX-3 gets revised LED taillights and 18-inch wheels. Most of the changes enjoyed by the 2019 CX-3 are limited to the interior. For example, an electronic parking brake has been fitted. The Japanese firm claims that this “allows for a significant increase in storage place.” We’re not so sure about the word ‘significant’ in that statement but nevertheless, some customers may be pleased to have a new button to play with… In all seriousness, the electronic parking brake has allo...

The concept is a radical departure from the rest of the Genesis lineup but it features a number of styling cues which could eventually show up on future models. Elsewhere, the concept has “quad lights” that originally debuted on the GV80 concept. Genesis says they are a “signature” of the company so don’t be surprised when they show up on future models. US-Spec 2019 Kia K900 Is Here With A 365HP Turbo V6 And AWD

Image
While we can say we’re hardly surprised to see the 2019 K900, as we’ve already published images of its K9 Korean sibling, the fact that the Hyundai Group went all luxury on us on the New York Auto Show, first with the Genesis G70 and now with the brand-new K900, shows that they are dead serious about making it in that segment. Based on a totally new platform, the second-gen K900 features a redesigned exterior that was styled in Kia’s California and Korea centers following a philosophy named ‘The Gravity of Prestige’ (try not to cringe, please…) and is leaner than that of the model it replaces, with a Cd of 0.27. It is also bigger in all dimensions: it is 201.6 inches long, 75.4 inches wide and 58.7 inches high, while it’s wheelbase is a generous 122.2 inches long. Kia, however, notes that due to its new proportions it looks tighter than the outgoing model. Highlights include the new grille, with 176 jewel-like cells, the chrome lower strip that runs from the front to the r...
