MSO Goes Carbon Black With Sinister McLaren 570GT Special

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has taken the Sports Series 570GT model and added a bespoke Carbon Black exterior paint, to go with the Titanium SuperSports exhaust and the Sport Pack handling package.

Only 100 examples of this limited edition MSO-tuned model will be made available worldwide, at a price of £179,950 (equal to $251,154 at today’s exchange rates), with deliveries set to commence this summer.

Look around its stealthy exterior and you’re likely to notice the MSO Defined Black Pack replacing the car’s standard Dark Palladium components, which includes the front and rear splitters, side skirts and air intakes. To complete the dark aesthetic, MSO added new Gloss Black Diamond wheels with black calipers and carbon ceramic brakes.

Inside, the 570GT MSO Black Collection trim adds Jet Black leather as well as Carbon Black Alcantara accents on the center tunnel, lower instrument panel, headliner, steering wheel and speaker surrounds. Meanwhile, the electric and heated memory Sports Seats are wrapped in Semi-Aniline leather and have unique MSO logo embroidery on the headrests.

Other features include the Carbon Black MSO ignition key, bespoke dedicated plate under the center console and the panoramic roof with a UV-filtering black privacy tint glass, although the latter can be upgraded to the MSO Electrochromic Panoramic roof, a £4,750 option.

Overall, the 570GT MSO Black Collection also includes the GT Upgrade Pack, with Vehicle Lift, Rear View Camera, Power Adjust Steering Column and a 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

“Black is a color associated with elegance, power and authority whilst also surrounded by a certain air of mystery,” stated McLaren design director, Rob Melville. “The end result remains true to the luxurious nature of the 570GT but we managed to further amplify its sleek sporty character with a wealth of new MSO Defined options which I am sure will delight discerning owners.”
