Elon Musk Confirms Unexpected Tesla Product Reveal For October 17
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the electric automaker has a product unveiling slated for October 17th.
Musk revealed the news on his Twitter account and as he says, such an announcement comes rather unexpectedly, leaving many to wonder just what Tesla has up its sleeve.
As Eletrek reports, there are a few possible explanations as to what Tesla is planning. For starters, an announcement relating to Autopilot 2.0 could be made where confirmation may come about numerous reported hardware improvements to the self-driving system, which may include the retrofit of an advanced triple front-facing camera.
If this does happen, the timing of it would come just after the firm started rolling out its 8.0 software update to owners which includes numerous software improvements to Autopilot, including the increased reliance on radar.
Alternatively, Tesla could be planning something related to the Model 3. Perhaps we could see the production-spec car or an announcement regarding the Model 3's future range-topping variant.
Whatever Musk is planning, expect to hear much more this time next week.
