New South Wales Police Roll Out Audi S7 Sportback
The New South Wales Police Force has just taken delivery of a specially-equipped Audi S7 Sportback which will be used in a selection of community and youth engagement programs.
The S7 Sportback has been lent to the Lake Illawarra Area Command and will be used for 12 months, replacing the RS4 Avant previously used by the department.
To make the car stand out on the street, it has been adorned in a unique livery selected by Facebook fans on the Audi Australia page last year. The livery consists of a blue and white chequered pattern on the lower third of the body as well as numerous police decals, including links to the department's social media pages.
Discussing the car, managing director of Audi Australia Andrew Doyle said “The Audi S7 Sportback has a striking presence, thanks to its sophisticated design and the sound of its extraordinary twin-turbo V8 engine, and so it is perfectly suited to making an impact at the various events it will attend throughout the course of the next 12 months.
“Audi has been extraordinarily successful in Australia over the last decade, and so we are delighted to contribute back to the community in this way.”.
While the S7 Sportback won't be used in active police duty, if it was, it could keep up with most cars on local streets. After all, its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 pumps out 450 hp and 550 Nm of torque and can accelerate the car to 100 km/h in a scarce 4.6 seconds.
