Honda Previews New WR-V Sub-Compact SUV For South America

Honda has just released a design sketch of a new sub-compact SUV coined the WR-V. What does that stand for?

Well, it's an acronym for 'Winsome Runabout Vehicle' and the Japanese marque has developed the model for the South American market, particularly Brazil, and believes it will prove popular among those who enjoy active lifestyles and the practicalities offered by small SUVs.

The model will debut at next month's Sao Paolo International Motor Show 2016 and when it hits showrooms, it will slot below the HR-V in the carmaker's South American line-up.

From a design standpoint, some similarities to the HR-V are clear, such as the prominent body crease running horizontal along the doors. Compared to Honda's other SUV models however, the WR-V adopts a more outlandish design, particularly its bold front fascia that includes aggressive lines, sharp headlights and a relatively small grille.

No date has been aannounced for when the Honda WR-V will reach the production line.
