All-New Nissan Micra Heading To Paris With Radical Design

Nissan will take on other fresh superminis such as the Kia Rio and Citroen C3 with the fifth generation of the Micra, which will celebrate its world premiere next week, during the 2016 Paris Auto Show

On the visual front, the B-segment car will step aside from the current model and go for a completely new look, sportier on both ends, highlighted by a sloping roofline, prominent roof-mounted spoiler, and rear door handles hidden in the C-pillar.

If its curvy and soft design, previewed by previous spy shots, seems somewhat familiar, then you did not forget about the brand's Sway Concept, unveiled at last year's Geneva Motor Show, which has served as an inspiration for the upcoming Micra, along with the Pulsar compact hatchback.

There are no technical details available on the 2017 Nissan Micra, except for the fact that it will be underpinned by the same platform as the next-generation Juke. Set to be unveiled in 2017, the subcompact SUV is believed to come with a range of small petrol and diesel engines, such as the 1-liter, three-cylinder turbo, 1.6-liter turbo four-banger, and 1.5-liter diesel, some of which (if not all) could make their way on the supermini too.
